In Dance With Me, when Jim is talking to Tom about what he and his girl do togethr, Tom is getting coffee. You can see him reflected in the mirror. Well when Jim is asking "you're black?" and Tom is sipping, there appears to be no coffee in the cup. I just watched this scene and although I didn't see any coffee in Tom's cup, I think I saw steam rising out of the cup. I'm not sure though, because ABC does not come in the best where I live and there is some fuzz on the tape. Has anyone else seen steam? Maybe Tom was drinking hot water?

Maybe Tom was drinking hot water? Aw, like my grandma! She used to drink a cup of hot water every morning when she got up at 4am to pray. She thought it was a sin to drink coffee or tea, but that hot water (with a drop of lemon on special occasions) really hit the spot. Sorry. Off topic.

I too did see steam on rewatching it, and I heard him do a little sip. However he had just poured the coffee, so must have just taken a little bit. I really didn't mind watching it again.

During my most recent viewing of the Pilot, I noticed what I think is a blooper in the scene where the detectives go to the first crime scene: Before Fisk assigns Karen and Jim to the stolen-car case, Jim says there's a garage on the corner, and offers to start a canvass. How did he know about the garage on his first day in a new precinct?

Maybe he knew the city really well before he was blinded? If he lived there for a long time, it is a possibility. Just a thought.

I just thought it was unlikely he'd have such detailed knowledge of the neighborhood if he hadn't lived or worked there before.

I just thought it was unlikely he'd have such detailed knowledge of the neighborhood if he hadn't lived or worked there before. Very interesting! I always just assumed he had studied up on all the businesses in his precinct or he knew the city or he had asked Karen what was around as they were headed in. Or maybe she mentioned it in passing as she was parking. Or maybe they walked past it on the way in and Jim heard/smelled it and figured it out. I still think he may have done some exploring throughout his precinct before going back to work because I'm sure he knew how important it was to go into the job knowing as much as possible--and he had an incredible memory. Think of how he always had the address of where he was at the tip of his tongue every time he radioed in for help. That always impressed me. Perhaps the sighted cops would have it written down but Jim had to know it. There are many ways he could have found out about that garage.

I thought I saw another blooper over the weekend and I just finally remembered what it was (I tend to watch/think about Blind Justice while trying to fall asleep- this is why I don't remember things to post) and I just read through the entire bloopers thread to make sure it wasn't mentioned before and I don't think I saw it but it is 1:49 am and I can not be held resonsible for my actions this late at night.
Anyhow in Fancy Footwork when Jim and Karen are interviewing the rich father about someone in the family possible picking up the gun, at the end of the scene it appears to me (who watched this 3 days ago in the middle of the night) that Jim and Karen sort of turn towards each other and shrug. I think thats a little odd, almost to much of a visually stimulated responce. On that thought tho, suppose it was Karen respondiong to a nano second later to a shrug from Jim? So maybe it isn't a blooper, or maybe it is, I'm not sure now. I tried to find a screencap but there doesn't appear to be any out there of that scene (maybe I'm looking in the wrong place?) I do know that it is now 1:56 am and I am going to bed before I post anymore incoherant thoughts.

I too always notice that when watching that episode and didn't think to post it as a blooper. It is right after Mr. Eastman says something about "driving a wedge between my son and Postileone's daughter" and Jim and Karen turn at the same time and seem to make eye contact.

This takes place in Under the Gun which I happened to watch today! I happened to think it just occured to them at the same moment--them being "on the same page" and all ;D
I noticed another blooper in the same episode. When Tom wants to speak privately to Jim, they head off to the left like they are going into one of the interview rooms. Then, when the camera pans out, there they are, off to the right near the vending machines. Guess they walked behind the camera! Ooops!

In the Tuxhorn's apartment, Jim is exploring the book shelves as Karen is looking around. On the shelf behind Jim is this rather large red book on art. When they next show Karen, there is the same book! Then back to Jim and the shelf has fewer books. Back to Karen and then back to Jim and the books are back! Maybe they had a two for one sale that day

Maybe they had a two for one sale that day I haven't watched this again to notice, but whenever this type of thing happens in a series, I remember how we did photo shoots for magazines and catalogs when I was a design coordinator (general flunkie) for a cabinet manufacturer. We had a prop room where we kept all the dishes, linens, tableware, pots, pans, florals, books, etc. I got to go on a buying spree for the prop room, and one thing we did was buy big closeout books that had bright covers so they would look good on the shelves. That's why your "two for one sale" line made me laugh. Because it's probably true. If you looked closely at our photo shoots, some of the same props would show up in different settings. It's fun to dress the set, but you have to get creative to make it look like someone lives there, rather than a sterile set.

Not sure if this has been mentioned or not. When Jim is in the park just before playing chess with Lester, he is questioning two youths, with blue hair and mohawks. He asks them if they know something or have seen someone, I forget the question. They just shake their heads and he says, "Ok thanks".
