But, really, did they have to kill it? Leave it be for God's sake.... Yes, they did Because, who would believe them if they came home and said, We saw the largest squid ever but we didn't catch it, we let it go... That wouldn't prove them to be real tough men who can land "The Worlds Largest Squid" OK, I'll stop being sarcastic now... - Chris

Maybe the fishermen sold it on for food. That squid would produce an awful lot of portions of calamares. Mind you, my dim and distant memory of eating small squids is that they were pretty rubbery and chewy. I'd hate to think how rubbery and chewy one that size would be. Ugh.

Mind you, my dim and distant memory of eating small squids is that they were pretty rubbery and chewy. I'd hate to think how rubbery and chewy one that size would be. Ugh.
