known to us as Lady Bird Johnson has passed away today at the age of 94. She was not only known as our First Lady, but a devoted environmentalist until she died.

"I'm optimistic that the world of native plants will not only survive, but will thrive for environmental and economic reasons, and for reasons of the heart. Beauty in nature nourishes us and brings joy to the human spirit," Lady Bird Johnson wrote.

Thanks for bringing this to attention - a darn good politician in the days when women were the ones behind the scenes, running the show (of course we still do that) as well I reckon.
