I noticed two interesting things yesterday: In the Pilot: Interesting poster... Perhaps they were looking into a motif? And: When this officer walks past Hank, they both look at each other and keep eye contact until he's past. I can just see the mistrust in both of them --GB

In Past Imperfect, I'd always wondered what was with Greg's little head-bob and big smile here. But then I realized he was sort of checking out Karen. Because right after he turns and grins at her with a little "how you doin' " look, she walks behind him. Hmm... --GB

Question: Does anyone remember the discussion concerning a sign on the side of a desk ( I think it's Russo's)? Was it ever found out what it says?

I wonder whose idea it was to let the two-year-old play with Hank? But obviously Jim didn't like it, 'cause as soon as he got back to his desk, he took the dog back! --GB

I wondered about this, too, GB! Jim definitely goes straight to Hank and takes him back to his own desk. But I also wonder: how did Jim know the child was playing with Hank?

Could be -- but the little boy is pretty quiet, and there are people talking in the scene, as I recall.

I've worked out why the need for clown shoes and thus big feet for this character. In this shot, Jim has come out of Interview one and walked over to the huddle, but rather than having to hold his hand out to see how close he is, to use a cane or ask, he gets by with a little kick to Karen. He just sort of walks into her. Don't believe me? Go have a look at that bit for yourself. He's brought up short by something we can't see and I'm betting it's the clown shoes. This also explains why Karen goes from wearing nice shoes Sorry, they're cut off but you'll remember the scene and the shoes if your obsessed enough - obsessed withBJ or shoes I guess) you'll remember they are quite nice, with a defined heel. Sexy. to wearing really chuncky steel toed protection type boots And I guess it worked 'cause she wore shoes that that for the rest of the show as far as I recall.Talk about a sacrifice, she needs karma for that, I better hop over to the chacracter kill off game thread. ;D PS I might just have to change my avatar name to Detective something after this one. You'll never see me smug... Ok OK I'm lying.

Ok, the height question is getting interesting - at least to me. IMDB has the heights of the following listed this way: Eldard 6'0"; David Duchovny 6' 1/2"; Paul Rudd 5'9". Maybe IMDB has corrected the height since your original post, but they now have him as 5'10" - which from what I can see seems pretty close to right.

Okay, you all can do the math: I'm 5' 6" inches in my stocking feet and about 5'7.5 in the heels I had on that memorable night. I'd say RE is 5'10 or maybe 5'11". And really, what's the diff? Actors lie about how tall they are -- it's a given. Hey! Alan Ladd was 5'4" and no one cared.

With a medium heel (which is rare, mind you) I'm about 5'7". Wearing those shoes here, my guess is that Ron is 5'10" (1/2 maybe).

I'm 5'4" and was wearing flats in this picture (comfort always wins out over fashion, where my feet are concerned!), so I concur in the estimate of 5'10" to 5'11".
