Inuvik, we have no snow at all. In fact, it's quite warm. Well, that's good. I have no desire for others to have all this snow! (Just wait though..... ) I can wait a long long time thanks! Ok, back to Thanksgiving before we sidetrack it on the woes of snow.

Since I don't know if I'll have time to go online tomorrow, I'd thought I'd take the opportunity today to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. My parents are visiting from Georgia and I have relatives coming up from Miami. The cousins haven't been to Tampa before, so I'll be showing them around. It's about 20 degrees colder than normal for this time of the year right now. The high is only in the low 60s (yeah, yeah I know....not that cold ) so it definitely feels like the holiday season.

Happy Thanksgiving to all!
Of the calorie count please have no fear For Thanksgiving comes just once a year Ignore the bulge Its time to indulge For later you can work on your rear!
Sorry, lousy limerick...
On a serious note--remember what you are truly thankful for.
Not going anywhere. Will be in the kitchen working on eight pies among other things. My nephew asked me Sunday for his own personal pie...teens and their hollow legs! The weather here is great--sunny, in the 50's.

Me? I'm thankful for pie-baking hoosiers who write great limericks. ;D

Happy Thanksgiving to those of you who celebrate it. I caught the end of a story on the news about George Bush pardoning a turkey - some kind of tradition? What was that about?

Happy Thanksgiving to those of you who celebrate it. I caught the end of a story on the news about George Bush pardoning a turkey - some kind of tradition? What was that about? It's one of those dopey "cute" news stories that's become a Thanksgiving tradition. I have no idea when it started but it's been going on for years, certainly since I was a kid. The President "pardons" two live turkeys and they're sent off to a petting zoo somewhere instead of to the Thanksgiving table. It's sort of a PR thing to make the President look humorous and humane . . . and it's huge waste of time!

I think I heard on the News that the pardoning of the Turkey began with Lincoln ( who was president in the1860's). His son had a pet turkey.
