Kathy and I were watching a sendoff of our favorite football team from the stadium on a live webcam, and I got thinking that perhaps we could share some webcams nearby to where we live. Or maybe just favorite webcams. In my classroom, I used to have a live webcam from a watering hole in Africa from National Geographic. It is no longer up, but was always such fun to watch the different animals arrive there to drink. And the live webcam in Times Square is always fun to look at when I miss NY. There is an overhead shot but on the bottom of the screen are many other cams that gives a better view of the bustling crowd. Barb go stand there and wave to us. hahaha www.earthcam.com/usa/newyork/timessquare/Here is a live cam of the beach that I did my New Year's Day swim. It is snowing now so not too clear. (There are three, but it is the Newport Beach cams.) www.northeastsurfing.com/newportcam.htmlSo how about it, send us your nearby webcams so we can see where you are. I notice there are quite a few in Australia. Or if you have any favorite ones, send those.

I have two web cam pics. They are both mountain cams. I could not get any of the city cams. The big draw here is the mountains and the city of Denver. This first one is a little bit past the place where the mountain school where I teach is. The second one is near Vail ski resort about an hour and a half away from my home.

Someone correct me if I am wrong but I think they are those big brother cameras on the stop lights in intersections and cameras that are set up by the state department of transportation.

I am deeply stuck in admiration for anyone who gets in the water in that weather - really enjoyed looking after having just spent the week boogie (body) boarding - we chose the beach we did (Washerwoman's Beach, Bendalong, NSW) for our holiday cos it's a good L-plate beach for kids learning to surf and great for boogieboarder of 40+ variety! Unfortunately that beach is not on the Australian one but our two home beaches are - Maroubra where we live close to now and Cronulla/Wanda where I grew up - have a look! And Lindy - where you live is magnificent. You must wake up every day and be so happy about it! Thanks again Matilda

Terre Haute is the closest "big city"near me that does have a webcam. You can peek at it on www.wthitv.com (one of our local channels). Go to towercam center (left hand side of screen) and viola, the Wabash Valley beckons.
