You did a great job. I think the way you portrayed everyone's feelings about Jim coming to work at the 8th precinct was pretty realistic.

I'm so glad you finally wrote this! I love your take on how everyone reacted when they found out Jim was going to be assigned to their precinct. Your characterizations are right on and I can see the conversations happening exactly as you've written them.
Very well done and lots of fun to read. Thank you!

Very nicely done! I love that you have provided insight into a scene we could only imagine -- Fisk announcing that Jim was joining the 8th precinct - I always wondered what the reaction might have been and now, keeping in mind the looks on the faces when Jim walked in for the first time, I think you have captured the preface perfectly. It may have sat on your hard drive for a long time -- I for one am glad you found the inspiration to finish it.
And, suffice it to say, you know how much I have enjoyed every one of your fanfics - because I have also had the opportunity to share that with you in person -- and I have to let you know, you've done it again!

So I go away for a little while and come back to find another installment - Some Other Beginnings End - Jim's Perspective. This is just another example of the excellence of your writing - I have always so admired the way you are able to capture so much of Jim - - his thoughts, his feelings, his uncertainty, his need to push -- so well done-- again and again! The weaving of Walter in this installment is so appropriate - someone had to show Jim the ropes - make him feel a little more comfortable and confident his first day at the new precinct - why not Walter!
As much as I love this - and I do - there is still the matter of some unfinished business -- I am waiting, albeit not so patiently -- for you know what!

Kenina, this is an absolute knockout! 100% believable, the characters shine, and your dialogue crackles with realism and humor. I think this is the best yet. How I wish we could have had this exact scene with the flashbacks in the "never to be" second season. Sigh. Just terrific. Mags
