In case you haven't seen it yet, GB has posted the first chapter of an absolutely hilarious Blind Justice-Bakersfield P.D. crossover at ff.net. Jim Dunbar meets Wade Preston! Check it out: www.fanfiction.net/s/2736885/1/

I roared laughing through the whole thing. I especially loved Wade saying "You guys are so serious". Sounded just like him. GB you are too much!

There's also the way Wade keeps saying that Jim looks familiar. ;D

I too laughed all the way through it. You captured the Bakersfield characters exactly--especially Wade. Then of course, there's the looking familiar, the group hug, why would Christie want Jim when she could have had Wade, the fascination with Tom's blackness etc.
Way too funny!!
I really can't wait to see where this one goes. ;D ;D

I can't believe you managed to do this, pull it together like this, when you didn't get the package until the 29th of December. That's not very long to capture the Bakersfield crew, but you did it and did it in fine style! This is absolutely hilarious - and I can just picture Wade, looking at Dunbar, trying to figure out why the hell he looks so familiar!

That is the funniest thing I have read in a long time. I am roaring. "Ernest never let anyone wear the chicken suit, believe me I asked said Wade." and "chickens have wings". I can't wait for more. You have the crew from BPD down so well. Wade so thrilled to be a part of Paul's family. I love it!

I loved the part where Jim and Tom were playing with Wade about Jim not knowing he was black.

Keep it coming!

Brilliant idea, GB! I wish I had thought of that. Thanks for the fun read.
Of course, being a native Californian, I feel called upon to point out a couple of very picky things that don't have much to do with anything. Modesto is over 200 miles north of Bakersfield, so I'm not sure why Jim and the others would be passing through Bakersfield instead of just arriving at an airport nearer their destination. It also cracks me up when people assume Bakersfield to be a small town. That's one of the quirky things about BF. It has over a quarter million residents, but still manages to be in the middle of nowhere and to look the way it is shown on BFPD. There. That's me taking a parody far too seriously instead of just enjoying it as it deserves to be enjoyed.
As everyone has already said, you really did capture the charm and the quirkiness of the BF cast. I especially liked the way Ramirez tried to get Denny to be "close" the way Jim and Tom were. Hilarious! Thanks for coming up with something so original and fun.

I picked Modesto because that's where the President was headed when he drove through Bakersfield. And that's where the other arm was found. Which makes that little bit of information even odder, being so far from the first arm. --GB

I just re-read Cuffing the Chicken!
The first time I read it I had not seen Bakersfeild PD and I enjoyed th story, even if I was a bit confused.
But now, after having seen the series and read the story again I was just rolling on the floor laughing. Thank you GB for such a wonderful romp.
