Oh Lori, excellent! Very tense, and so true to Jim's character. Too bad he couldn't have kept Danny for a partner instead of partnering up with Terry eventually. But then there wouldn't have been a Blind Justice would there?

I have to agree with Mary. Jim would do whatever it takes to make sure the bad guys don't come out on top--including give his life if that's what it took. The descriptions were great. I actually flinched when Jim was getting the crap beat out of him!

Thanks for another great installment, Lori. This story may be the longest-running BJ fic, right? It looks like the wedding is getting close. Will Christie give Jim a hard time for looking too beat up in the pictures? I would imagine she would be upset with him for spoiling the effect.

Good work, once again! You have such good insight into the characters and yet are true to what we know of them from the series. I'll just add my thanks for continuing the story and giving us, in this chapter, a look at the cop Jim was before the bank.

I have loved your story. Please tell me this isn't the end! Reading some of the comments on fanfic that is the impression I am getting. Tell me it ain't so!!!!! We have to get to the wedding and the first meeting with Terry at least. You can't leave us hanging. Hope I haven't totally debased myself by begging but I'm not ready for it to end.

First, thank you all for the wonderful feedback - I am awed that you have given me such encouragement and support! I think where that little rumor may have started is in the "Limerick" thread - but I'll say it now - IT AIN'T SO! The end, I think, is only a reference to the end of the envelope sub-story line, not the rest of the story. (He's a cop - I had to get crime in there somewhere!) Writing BTWD has been one of my most welcome escapes from reality and I have loved writing it. As long as it remains an enjoyable experience, and I still have the desire to do so, I plan to continue to write!

Mea culpa, Lori, mea maxima culpa. What with one thing and another -- such as board business, my newfound limerick obsession (for which I hold you partially responsible ) and, you know, LIFE -- I have been terribly remiss in not telling you how wonderful BTWD is. You've got a firm grip on these characters and their emotions and motications, and I, too am painting for more! Mags
