Natascha, How do you do it?? Two terrific stories posted in one day, reading "Exit Wounds" I had tears in my eyes, how can anyone make a choice like that?? And "Hitting the Wall" - excellent writing, both Jim and Christie comes so vividly to life in all their hurt and pain, it's almost unbearable. All I can do is to say; Thank You for yet another great Fan-fiction you are incredibly talented Karma!!! Take care and keep smiling - Chris

Oh I just read it and you don't disappoint. I can't even imagine how you research all that medical info. Excellent job. Thanks for both of those. Can't wait to read more.

Natashca, this one is so gut wrenching! I love it when the blanks are filled in about what could have happened. I liked the spin on the decision that Jim had to make. Very dramatic.

Like the people who have already posted here, I enjoyed both of the stories you posted today. (What a great treat for a Sunday!)
Exit Wounds was unexpected in as much as I'd always assumed that Jim lost his sight immediately when the bullet hit him. I admit, though, that I find you version more convincing. I'm not convinced about the bullet's trajectory as we saw it in the show -- not that I have any medical expertise!
And, yes, what a tough choice you pressented for Jim and Christie to have to make. And the ending... So wonderfully understated.
I loved the tiny details you gave us in Hitting The Wall, showing how difficult the situation was for Jim... but most of all for Christie. Again, you gave us a terrific ending. Jim needs Christie, but Christie also needs someone. All power to her for taking whatever help is available to her.
I'm not sure whether this thread is quite the right place to say this, but I've read your other fics, and they are all of a fantastically high standard. Thank you for them, too.

Both stories are excellent and heart wrenching. Exit Wounds. What can I say? A difficult decision to make and yet not really any question. Somehow I get the feeling they are both suffering separately, not really sure how to support each other. Nothing to do but be there.
Hitting the Wall--short but sweet. So much emotion and frustration conveyed so quickly. Sometimes I think we forget that there must have been some dark days on the journey to the Jim we see at the beginning of the Pilot--maybe a little nervous or uncomfortable but a man with a mission.
These two stories give us a glimpse of what it might have been like in a powerful way.

Exit Wounds--Such amazing detail! It was frightening and gut wrenching at the same time with Jim and Christie wavering between hope and despair and confusion over what is happening and the consequences inherent in which ever choice they make.
Hitting the Wall--You can almost taste Jim's fear at trying to come to terms with his life and his anguish at not being able to cope like he think he should. And Christie nearing the breaking point and reaching out for help so she can help him. Great story!
