I've posted the first chapter of a new fic, "The Waiting," in the Fan Fiction section here. It's also at fanfiction.net: Chapter One.In the words of the song, "the waiting is the hardest part." But is it? This is a story about what might have happened after Jim was shot, as Christie and others wait at the hospital to find out whether Jim will wake up, whether he will live or die. |

This is a very nice take on the things we never had a chance to know (although pieces of a similar storyline have been tackled in the FanFicdom already.) As per usual, your concept and your delivery are flawless. Excellent job, MLM.

Ahhh, new fanfic!!!!  Great beginning, Martha. One thing I never thought about (but you obviously did  ) is, what was Jim doing at the bank robbery to begin with??? A detective in a situation like this, he shouldn't be there, should he?? I'm so looking forward to what's going to happen next... Take care and keep smiling - Chris  |

Now we're getting into some unchartered territory and I am so glad you are the one taking us down this road - well written, as usual with just the right amount of tension and angst. Good job gathering all the players together in this one and keeping their characteristics true. I like the idea that Walter would be there to watch out for Jimmy and comfort his wife. If (and it's a very big if) I had an ounce of sympathy left for TJ, you just managed to snuff that out. Liar!
Looking forward to the next install!

Poor Christie, overwhelmed by it all and then confronted by the replay of the shooting on the TV! Thank goodness, she had Walter to lean on. I could see him coming immediately to help her. And she will probably need it since the arrival of her parents doesn't seem to bode well.
I can imagine Annie Jansen being the sort of person to call everyone "Hon". She seems to be a good sort but the kind that gets on your nerves.
Wonder how long it took Terry to come up with that story! His guilty conscience is already eating away at him.
