I dipped my toes in the "Vignettes"- thread and found that the water was fine. So I took the plunge and wrote the first chapter of my fic "Winter Wonderland." It's posted here . Now, a word to the vignette writers: If you can write a vignette, you can write a longer story, which is simply a bunch of related vignettes strung together. Go for it! I hope you are right.... - Chris

Thank you Chris, this is going to sound highly naff but I love reading things about snow, especially in a city - something I've never experienced. We have snowfields here (albeit pretty lame ones by international standards) but it doesn't snow in any of our capital cities and I've never been to the Northern Hemisphere in (your) Winter. Love it.
Tks

Ditto to all of the above. Loved how Christie just went for it, helping Jim when he didn't want it and not making a to-do about it. Doesn't hurt him to learn that he can accept help without feeling that its pity! Happily anticipating chapter two!

Nothing like testing the waters and then taking the plunge - may as well join us as the water has been quite fine!
Very nice start - I love the fact that you have chosen the winter season as the setting for your fic. So many possibilities are opened by the intro you have just written - and I love that I can picture the expression on Jim's face when Christie offers her assistance. I am looking forward to seeing where this is all headed!

Wow, this is getting interesting, Chris. Sounds like a possible serial killer. Hope the next chapter is already in the works!

Chris, I'm really enjoying this especially the peek into the perp's brain. Plus Karen's embarrassment on "forgetting" Jim at the scene coupled with Tom's little aside to her.

I've been very remiss about giving feedback recently. So, apologies for that. I've really liked what you've written so far, especially all the snow-related detail. Beautiful without being sappy. Like Hoosier, I liked Karen's embarrassment. Well handled. Looking forward to more! Krissie
