Ash is back!
Poignant. Its been two years and you can still feel the eggshells Christie is walking on and how very close to the surface Jim's anger is. He reacts defensively, jealous of his independence and ends up pushing her away, not physically but emotionally while Christie tip-toes around him, confused about what she is supposed to do and how she is supposed to act.

N, thank you for that fic. It was so beautifully done, with so much imagery. I had that picture in my head of her watching him leave on the first day of work wringing her hands. Her torment was evident. and of course the "walking on eggshells" comment. How hard it has to be to stand by and watch and be damned if you do and damned if you don't. And again such a painful look into Jim's world.

No, I didn't forget to write a comment in the post above, my first reaction when I finished reading this amazing story was like that, blank. I didn't know what to say! Natascha, you are so talented, you know how to describe an atmosphere in a way that makes me feel the same way. I could feel the suffocating tension between Jim and Christie, all of their emotions were almost tangible. The anger, the sorrow, two lost souls both terribly hurt and misunderstanding each other. Karma for endowing us with your beautiful fic. Take care and keep smiling - Chris
