Ya know Ash, part of me is very jealous of you for having such an imagination and capacity to write what you imagine - the other part is just happy it's back in motion.
Thank you lovely one.

Very interesting N. I expected Marty to wake up sweating in bed. Good job.

Yes, you're right, mags. "Who Is Shoes?" doesn't make a lot of sense as the title of this story. Sorry, N, I'm not picking on you -- honest. It's just that the misuse of "apostrophe s" is one of my pet peeves. Enough of the "grammar police." Now on to the story itself -- a very nice effort at showing something we've all probably theorized about: what might have happened at the 8th if Marty had been in Jim's shoes, and vice versa. Any chance you'll continue it, and possibly show some more Jim-Marty interaction?

Ah, mlm828, we are indeed the grammar police -- have we attained the rank of lieutenant yet? Here's a tip: For lo-o-o-o-o-o-ong posts, such as the aforementioned "vignette," it's a good idea to work in Microsoft Word and then import the text to the board (you'll have to re-do Italics and other minor formatting but it's worth it). When you work in Word, it will underline spelling errors in a squiggly red line and egregious grammatical errors in green. Word of warning, however -- Spell-Check will never differentiate two real words, like who's and whose. The only answer is vigilant proofreading, which is not only a kindness to fellow board members but a courtesy. And [ahem] it makes your work look more professional. As for the story, thanks and, as mlm828 said, a nice effort.

It would be nice to see Jim having to admit that Marty can hold his own, In Jim's own way of course. Oh no! You've got me thinking now Ummm, can we be expecting something some time soon? I liked seeing how it Marty (Jim) came to the squad--the request for another detective--and how Karen seemed to know how to handle a disabled partner. Too bad that wasn't indicated, even in passing, in the show. Thanks for filling in those pesky little grey areas, Ash!

Very interesting, Ash. I like how different the show could have been, had the lead character been different. The premises are the same, blind detective going back to work, but written differently or with a different actor playing the lead it would have been a totally different show. Karma for flying solo and doing such a great job. - Chris
