My take on Drop Dead Fred is that the little girl has Tourettes Syndrome and the filmmakers have externalised it as DDF. So we get to see her life as she sees it. Some neurological/behavioural problems of childhood evaoporate /lessen as we grow up but then can reoccour/re-emerge during times of stress. That's what I see when she manages to get DDF (Tourettes) under control as an adult but then he (it) goes wild when she is under pressure. Possibly because I look at it this way I think it is a very special film. N P.S. Yes, Ron is very sweet and cuddly isn't he? I espeically loved it when he began throwing food in the restaurant. You know, Natascha, that does actually make me feel better about this movie. I thought that she had to have some mental problems and found it unsettling that it was presented that way - that nobody really cared, except for the little green pills the therapist gave her Maybe it's because I have a brother and a sister, both suffering from schizophrenia, that I had this weird feeling watching her act like this when I felt she was having problems that was not recognized by anyone. But Tourettes syndrome makes sense and like I said, makes me feel better about the film. Karma for that interpretation ;D - Chris - Ahhh, now I feel better

I'll have to watch it with that in mind and see if I like it better. Right now I love Ron and don't care for the movie. One thing won't change, that's for sure.

Tonight I watched "Sleepers" on TV. I heard about it back when it was released but never saw it. Now that I know RE is in it, I decided to watch it I don't know what to say, it's the kind of movie I would not watch usually but it was great. It was grim, brutal, nasty, creepy and so much more but at the same time a beautiful movie??? Beautiful might be a strange way to describe it but I don't know how else to describe it. It was so horrible when they were at the Wilkenson Center that I completely sympathized with them when they took revenge. The trial was so well done and especially Dustin Hoffman was great. Often if there is a trial in a film the lawyers are speaking loud and clear and tend to yell at the witnesses. Dustin Hoffman did the opposite, he was talking in a low almost inaudible voice, very effective. And I sat there, knowing that they were guilty and that John and Tommy had shot Sean Nokes in cold blood and yet I didn't want them to be convicted. They were two really bad guys but I felt like they had the right to, having experienced what they had as kids. Remarkable movie!! Chris

Look what Mystery, Alaska morphed to when it hit Germany. I don't know. That looks a little cold to me. I guess it depends on who's keeping you warm.

So, I know at least one person who would put up with a little ice under the collar for this.I couldn't help wondering how they both fit into that little igloo? And the ah... 'awkward positioning' Cosily...? Artistic license ,I assume.

So today, I watched Fathers and Sons. Ron reminded me so much of a gay guy I know, cross-dressing and all, that I was laughing out loud at times ;D The only difference is that the guy I know is really annoying and in no way hot!!! For some reason I liked RE as a gay guy (what does that say about me??? : Once again great acting, I sat there crying when he said goodbye to Max, it was so real. As for the rest of the movie, well there were some twisted father-son-relationships there and a lot of adultery Kind of depressing but hey, it ended with a cute baby!!! - Chris

OMG!!! I saw Ghost Ship on TV the other night.... I NEVER watch horror movies so I guess GS was at a disadvantage from the beginning. But still... Bad, bad movie, how could you, RE? It did scare me a bit, which I found very disturbing since I'm usually not easily freaked out but I guess I'm not as immune to horror movies as I thought I was. A waste of time, I'm glad I didn't buy the DVD. RE wasn't even that good looking, his hair was waaaay too blond so that couldn't even save this one. Eye candy goes a long way but he would have had to be at his best to save this one... - Chris

I was fortunate enough to be able to TIVO Ghost Ship. I say I was fortunate because it didn't cost me anything and I was able to fast forward through most of it. Even with Ron Eldard, I was pretty bummed because that is a half hour of my life I'll never get back.
The Runner, Just a Kiss, and The Last Supper, three RE movies worth renting. I wouldn't go so far as to call The Runner a good movie, but it is worth watching once.
