This is a very important topic for me, and I wanted to bring something to the forefront for your consideration.
The Foundation Fighting Blindness is a non-profit organization that needs your help in raising funds for research. I know that everyone has a lot of favorite causes. Right now, if you donate, there is a matching donor grant going on, so your money will be essentially doubled for the research on retinal diseases.
It may be too late for me to benefit from research being done now (I have macular degeneration, for those of you new to the board.), however, at the rate research is going, literally millions of people will benefit in the future. The vieo story of one of these children is located at www.blindness.org/coping/story.asp?id=11
Please contribute if you can. For another really interesting story, read about Gordon Gund, who founded this organization. Thanks for your time.

Thank you for your participation in Gordon Gund's Match!
Dear Ms. Woodside,
Thank you once again for your recent donation in response to Gordon Gund's online triple match!
Because of your generosity and compassion, we are one step closer to our goal - one step closer to a cure.
I wanted to share with you some additional great news:
*
The match raised 75,000, so along with Gordon's Match, a total of 225,000 in new funding is available for retinal research.
*
FFB's Chief Research Officer, Dr. Steve Rose, has awarded over 1.5 million in new research grants internationally and is issuing a call for new research projects to the scientific community that will result in new retinal research.
* Finally, while the 2-to-1 match deadline has passed, Gordon was so overwhelmed with the results that he has offered a new 1-to-1 match for all online gifts made before the end of our fiscal year.
Your generous response has made all of this happen. We are thankful to you for your contribution and want you to know that it is helping to fund extraordinary scientific research. Thank you for being part of the FFB family.
Sincerely,
Bill Schmidt
