OK I just signed up for the newsletter. Then I headed over to the photos page.
I know basically what the play is about (thanks Mrs.E), but I thought we might see him in his... ahem... sleeveless tank top. But it looks like he will be as covered up as he was under the Burberry. (Ha-- it'll be winter, maybe I should get a BRRRRberry to wear to NYC!)

Done! Very cool. Let's see if we get interviews with You Know Who. Or offers for discounted tickets? Even better.

In Doobrah's dream world, all of us would be on the front row wearing Burberry trench coats and Ron's cool BJ sunglasses! And at the end of the show, when he takes his bow, we all flash him!!! ;D

I'm just back from my bus trip to the Big Apple. The highlight of the day was a stop by the Walter Kerr Theatre on W 48 St. I got a little weak in the knees to think it was possible Ron was in there, possibly learning the part. Not that likely, but a girl can dream. I did take pics of the front of the theatre. Four people on our bus group went to "Doubt" so I was pumping them on the way back for some information. They all said it was "Excellent,"but had most of the raves for the woman lead and felt she should win a Tony. I asked about the part that Bryan O'Byrne plays and they also said he was great, yells a lot and had a "bronx accent that was a little too strong?" I also learned that Shanley who wrote the play also wrote "Moonstruck". We spent the morning in the "8th precinct" on Canal, and I was looking for a "coffee shop on Elizabeth" but never found one. I did find Franklin (five, no three blocks from Canal), Mott, Eldridge, Prince and Houston. (also learned that SOHO stands for South of House-ton (as it is pronounced there), and NOHO stands for North of House_ton; and that Tribeca stands for the Triangle below Canal). And those blue and white coffee cups are everywhere. Did see two celebrities though. Ellen Degeneres was taping an interview with Usher in Times Square. She had a lot of interaction with the crowd. Fun. I Love NY! Can't wait to go to see Ron in Doubt.
Oh just learned that Ellen is from NY this week, so if you see a person in a NYPD hat and hingeless sunglasses when she is interviewing Usher, that's me. (Only kidding about the hat.)

Sounds like you had a great time. Must have been really cool getting a few spoilers from Doubt which will be much better when a certain blond appears. It would be fun to see a lot of scenes from Blind Justice too. You'll have to post some pics for us.

"What do you do when you're not sure?" According to an interview with Cherry Jones, that's the opening line in "Doubt" and the priest (our Ron!) says it. The interview is at www.artspass.com/about.asp?doubt=true and runs about 35 minutes. Cherry gives a good synopsis of the play, and insights into her character, Sr. Aloysius, and the priest. The play is set in 1964, one year after Vatican II, and Cherry contrasts the characters of Sr. Aloysius, a 60-year-old nun from the old ways of Latin mass facing the altar, rigid thinking, old habits, and the priest who embraces the changes in the church. Sounds like conflict of the Marty/Jim scale. If you can do streaming video, it's worth a watch, esp as the interviewer is much better than James Lipton.

Well, too bad I didn't know you were here, I'd have met you! I live in NYC and work around the corner from the theatre and am there daily and have a view of it from my office. When are you planning to see Doubt? I'm certain I'll be in the neighborhood.

I'm afraid come January 10, I'd be camped out there every day in hopes of catching a glimpse of our boy. I'm not sure exactly when I am going to see the play, but I definitely am. I am so afraid of buying a ticket for Jan/Feb and having a blizzard. I am about 3 hours away. So might have to wait until after the snow flies. I will let you know though. Wow, I bet you will be the first to see it. How lucky are you! I love NY.

I am lucky - for many reasons, not just this - my city rocks and I've done so much and have seen so much - I truly truly love my city and will never EVER leave it!
Do let me know.

I just heard from a friend that there is a big picture of Ron in the New York Times today as starting in Doubt in January. I am off to find myself a NY Times. Someone might want to try seeing if it is online. Not sure they post all those pictures but they might.
