As most of you know, I was at the theatre the morning they were putting up the marquis for Doubt. How exciting to have a job right there!!!! Sadly, as I was leaving my appointment at 1585 Broadway (across the street from the Kerr), I saw them coming down, the new marquis up, and the new scenery going in for the new show. From the beginning to the end. The alpha and the omega.

It would make a fine mural in your Living Room.

The End......the Alpha and the Omega.....but just think of everything that happened in between! Such incredible memories!
(When that marquis was going up, Barbara said she saw Ron Eldard lying in the middle of the street. I thought for sure she meant he'd been hit by one of those crazy New York cabbies....Silly me, should have known better - she wasn't panicked and he's a boy from da hood!)

That's kind of sad. Even though you know it's coming, it's still really the end. But the memories live on and so do all the crazy times I've had because of this board, Doubt and Ron.

Just remembered--did someone say in another thread it was going on the road? Once plays leave Broadway, they enter the general repertoire of theatre, I believe. We have a play here now that was on Broadway in 2004. So, to cheer everyone up--it may be over in New York, but in another way it's just the beginning! Modified to add this link I found to cities where it will be playing. www.razorgator.com/tickets/theater/play/doubt-tickets/

Yes, it is going on the road. Cherry Jones is returning and Adriene Lenox is traveling with the company, as well. Chris McGarry (Brian F. O'Byrne's understudy) will play Fr. Flynn.
Come to think of it, I wonder what they did with Sr. Inflatus. Maybe they're taking her on the road?

I just elooked to see where it is playing and it's comming about 50 miles from me so I looked at the ticket price and Whoa!! $146!. Don't think I'll be going for that price, Although if Ron was in it I would at least think about it.

I haven't checked out local ticket prices...or even checked to see if it is going to hit the Washington, DC area, but if Father Flynn is not to be played by our favorite "blond" dude, I won't be biting. There are too many other things I want to see this year.....like Bocelli and Frangoulis. And now......dare I be the one to ask........

Dare I be the one to ask........ No, I will - I don't remember Sr. Inflatus. Can you refresh my memory? Oh. Hehe! She was a blow-up nun, the mascot of the company. Didn't I mention that? Hmm....I thought I had. It was hilarious - she's kind of mean looking holding a ruler - YIKES!
