To let everyone here know, about 3 weeks ago an oil heater we use in out laundry room burned the outlet it was plugged into.
The circuit breaker cut power to the area. Lucy pulled the plug, described it as melted.
Lucy hit the breaker to return power to 1/4 of the house and went back to finishing the laundry.
Enter, Marlo (a blind in one-eye rescue we had gotten from Dogma) Lucy saw Marlo pawing at something near the outlet and it was a sparks shooting out of the outlet.
Lucy cut the power to the 1/4 of the house and we called our electrician. He gave us the melted outlet and had to rewire. Said we are very lucky we didn't burn down.
The heater brand is on a recall for causing fires.
Marlo saved the day. She is now known as Marlo the Fire-fighten cat.
If not for her, house up in smoke.
A rescue cat saved us.
Later, Carl

Great news! Glad you are all OK.
We could do a show about that, call it "An Eye for Electricity", or something. ;D

So glad to hear you are ok.
Friends of mine were saved by their cat a few years ago too. They go to Florida every winter and take their cat. Unknown to them, they were slowly being poisoned by carbon monoxide as they slept. The cat meowed that awful meow that cats can do and woke them up. They were told the cat saved their lives because there was a good chance morning would have been too late. By the time the cat woke them up, they were already feeling the effects.
Animals can be so smart. Goes to show you you take care of them, they take care of you.
Karma to your cat!

What a scary thing to happen Glad the three of you, and the house, are okay. Marlo certainly repaid your kindness a thousand fold.
