I watched the sneak peak tonight (The first time I've watched ABC since Under the Gun aired last May) and it is an ok show. There are a lot of characters which made it a little hard for me to follow but if I watch it a few more times I'm sure I'll figure out who's who. I'll probably forget to watch it half the time because Friday is usually when I'm hanging out with friends or going bowling or whatever.

Oh thanks for reminding me E. I missed it earlier because I have 5 kids staying with me tonight, but we have satellite so I can watch/tape it at one.

I was surprisingly impressed by the show. I had it on expecting to doze off during it and ended up feeling gripped by it. Interesting premise, good writing, and good characters. It seems like a little bit of "House" mixed into a legal show. I like that most of the characters aren't lawyers but are often smarter than lawyers and I've loved Kyle MacLachlan since "Twin Peaks." He does well in this roll. Hmmm...I just may check this out, although if it's competing with "Book of Daniel" on a night I'm usually not home...I just don't know. It was good to get to see Marisal Nichols and to hear her speaking in her normal accent.

I agree Shmeep, I was pleasantly surprised. I tivo'd it last night and started watching this morning. I was intrigued by Kyle McLachlan on Twin Peaks, then creeped out by him as Charlotte's husband on Sex and the City, but I like him here. He seems not to be taking himself too seriously. I like the chief investigator guy. I have never heard of him before and was surprised he got billing above McLachlan.

I taped it and am planning to watch it as soon as I lose all these kids that are still hanging around. More to come.

I just finished watching it. I kind of liked it. It was a good story. Marisol was good in it and sometimes she sounded like Karen. The writing was good too. Loved the twist about another daughter. I never expected that. Loved the line about having a friend with two good ears. I'll probably watch/tape this show for a while anyway. Of course I watched it on the Canadian network. Have to go mail a certain letter. Back later.

I finished watching this morning and all in all I liked it. I kept confusing the ex-wife with the investigator, but other than that I thought it was good. I like the quirkiness of Kyle McLachlan's character.

I'm glad that everyone on here has given the show favorable reviews. I may succumb eventually and add it to the TiVo, but I'm not in much of a rush to watch it.
bjobsessed, I'll bite: What "certain letter" were you going to mail?

The storyline was interesting. I have to admit I kept looking for Karen during the show! The one guy she was partnered with orginially seemed to me a poor man's version of Marty with attitude. I also like Kyle McLaughlin and remember seeing him for the first time in the movie Dune. The one who played the lead investigator seemed familiar but I couldn't place him. I was a little confused--are they all lawyers? I know Kyle M. is and the one guy is an investigator but I thought I heard "Karen" say during an arguement that she had been lawyering 6 years. Can someone fill me in?

I have all those same questions. And does the lawyering Kyle's character does pay for the justice project? I am hoping they will answer these questions.

Did anyone happen to catch last night's episode? I really enjoyed it. The focus was on Marisol Nichols character's brother who was in jail wrongly accused of course. I thought it was well written and, just like last week, had a few twists in it that surprised me. I'm really enjoying this show so far.

I also liked it! I thought when the brother lied about a key part of his defense 'oh man, here we go,she's screwed and made to look like an idiot', but it all worked out in the end. And she got a job because of her tenacity and passion--and for Swain it didn't hurt that she's Latina! By the way,did you catch who played the drug lord--Luis from Doggone!
Wonder why the 'sneak peak' came from later in the series? Left a lot of questions in a lot of people's minds.

I've been watching it, mostly out of curiosity to see how TV will handle the subject matter. So far, I think the characters have potential, and Marisol Nichols has done a good job. I'm a little concerned that it could become repetitive: project takes case (how do they always pick a winner?), they investigate, and they succeed in having the client exonerated, perhaps after a few twists and turns. As long as they don't have a lot of courtroom scenes (which TV does so badly), I'll probably keep watching.
No surprise -- it does require a suspension of disbelief. It is incredibly difficult to obtain post-conviction relief, and it's almost always a long, tough fight, with the DA or Attorney General fighting the defense lawyers every step of the way.
I wonder if they'll ever have the nerve to do an episode where the project loses the case, either because the client really is guilty, or because the court rules their new evidence isn't enough, or because the court refuses to hear the case for some technical reason. Probably not -- it's TV, after all.
