++ Walter Clark because somewhere along the way, you became a mentor to Jim Dunbar and the respect, love and friendship you found for each other goes way beyond the job! -- Detective Terry Jansen because you still had to try the "were we not friends" angle as if you expected that to allow Jimmy to absolve you of your guilt and put Titus away. Tsk! Tsk! ++ Detective Marty Russo because not everything out of your mouth was an insult or a pick at Jim; some of it actually proved that he was earning your respect. Detective jim Dunbar-107 Detective Karen Bettancourt-67 Christie Dunbar-25 Detective Tom Selway-21 Dr. Allan Galloway-17 Chief Tunney-17 Walter Clark-17 Lt. Gary Fisk-15 Detective Marty Russo-15 Artie Steckle-13 Sonny Famigletti-1 Good-bye Terry Jansen: After signing his "retirement" papers, Terry decided that he and Annie and the kid needed a vacation, somewhere in the sun, where they could kick back and be a family again. Thanks to Jimmy Dunbar, he had all the time in world now. And, given the hardships of the past year, Annie deserved to get away from all those bad memories - like her husband having to adjust to a new partner and getting shot ! So, he packed em up and headed for Australia, to relax on the white sandy beaches of the western shore and partake in the wonders of the Great Barrier Reef. With his little red speedo, coordinating swim fins on his feet and his snorkle in hand, Terry waded out - a long way out - to relax in the salty ocean waters and involve himself in the bright life that seemed to abound on the reef. So involved was he, that what he didn't see was the big, grey shadowy thing with the sharp fin (and teeth!) swimming toward him. And, unfortunately for Terry, what he didn't hear was his son yelling, "Daddy, Daddy, the bull sharks coming, the bull sharks coming!" Dearly departed: 1 Nick Dyson 2 Terry Jansen

Nice, LL I read once that Australia has more things that can kill you in more painful ways than anywhere else in the world. Obviously, Terry didn't read that travelogue...

++ Detective Jim Dunbar for picking yourself up, dusting yourself off and getting back in the dance! ++ Christie Dunbar for the look of complete and total adoration for the man that Jim has become and the new journey that is just beginning. -- Sonny Famigletti for always looking like you spent more than 6 hours in a dumpster. Smell you? Look at you! Detective jim Dunbar-109 Detective Karen Bettancourt-67 Christie Dunbar-27 Detective Tom Selway-21 Dr. Allan Galloway-17 Chief Tunney-17 Walter Clark-17 Lt. Gary Fisk-15 Detective Marty Russo-15 Artie Steckle-13 Dearly Departed: 1 Nick Dyson 2 Terry Jansen 3 Sonny Famigletti Good-bye Sonny: Sonny was lonely; Bud was gone, he was back in Dunbar's fold but Dunbar and the wife had reconciled and someday he'd sit down and talk to Sonny about that, but not today, and Dunbar was partnered up and doing fine. So, feeling a little down in the dumpsters, Sonny decided to look up Debbie Diament - it's not that he liked Debbie, he didn't, but Debbie was a bit of a party girl - and Sonny thought he could use a good party to pick up his spirits a bit. Debbie, on the other hand, had other, more grandiose plans for this unexpected visit. You know that couch, the one she'd selected the fabric for, the one that Bud had found the coke in, well, it seemed to be missing some padding in the cushions since the coke disappeared - wasn't quite as soft and comfortable as it should have been. So, she took Sonny up on that invite to her pad, waited for him behind the door, took another mighty swing with that baseball bat and found the soft stuffing she needed to redo that couch! And Febreze ensures that everything about that living room and everything in it is now fresh and Sonny!

Jim Dunbar ++ for believing in yourself enough to give it a shot even though you were afraid that all the people who doubted you could do it were right. Christie ++ for loving Jim enough to take Dr. Galloway's advice and try to do something fun even if it was ballroom dancing. Dr. Galloway ++ for that great piece of advice. It gave them something else to focus on.

Jim ++ for the courage it took to make the walk to the locker room to put your gun in your locker for the last time. (and for not backing out on your decision) Tom ++ We got your back Jim Marty -- Even though you said 'good' it seemed kind of smug

I read once that Australia has more things that can kill you in more painful ways than anywhere else in the world. Obviously, Terry didn't read that travelogue... I've read that too, in Bill Bryson's "In a Sunburned Country". A hilarious travel memoir of Australia if anyone is interested!

Detective Jim Dunbar++for demonstrating just how dangerous and conjested the workplace can be as he tried to map out the squadroom his second day at work, we could all learn a little something about keeping the workplace tidy! Chief Tunney++you obviously weren't very happy with the decision to reinstate Dunbar but you did go along and at least seemed willing to give him a chance. Detective Tom Selway--"can't blame you for wanting to get back in the field,Jim" assuming that was all he could do rather than consider the fact that is what all cops want, to be out there doing their job not chained to a desk.

Detective Karen Bettencourt++for always seeming to keep your chair under your desk and out of Jim's way, he didn't even have trouble getting around your desk as he mapped his route to Fisk's office. Christie Dunbar++for not watching Jim from the window of their apartment as he left for work that morning Detective Marty Russo--his "over here" and little waveas means of introducton. Exactly where is "here",Marty?

++ Christie Dunbar for managing to put a year of hurt, anger and frustration behind you, cool down and find your way back home again. The ability to forgive is the most beautiful form of love! ++ Detective Tom Selway for being just a "well rounded brother from Flatbush" (even though there were many moments where you didn't appear too well rounded but a little angular and sharp!) -- Detective Karen Bettancourt for making your beef with Jim a male/female issue. "Would you go behind your male partner's back and tell the girlfriend to get lost?"....."First of all I didn't do that, and second of all, yeah, I would." "Oh, like hell you would!" I don't know if I can think straight enough to play three times, but here's one anyway.
Christie ++ for tell Jim that she felt safe with him sighted or blind Jim ++ for knowing that Karen wasn't ok after seeing the suicide even though she told Marty she was Karen ++ for being honest with Jim about how she really felt about witnessing it
Detective Jim Dunbar-117 Detective Karen Bettancourt- 69 Christie Dunbar- 35 Detective Tom Selway-23 Dr. Allan Galloway-19 Chief Tunney-19 Walter Clark-17 Lt. Gary Fisk-15 Artie Steckle-13 Detective Marty Russo-11

Karen ++ Even though she was skeptical and upset with him over Anne, she was still willing to give him a chance even if it was forced at first Jim ++ "So how is Anne?" Trying to make the best of an awkward situation Christie -- for getting on Jim as soon as he walked in the door his first day. Way to squash excitement Christie

++ Christie Dunbar for recognizing that something was up with Greg and giving he and Jim the space to talk things out, but doing it so that she was still comfortable with the situation, keeping Jim at home. -- Detective Marty Russo because I think Leonard Mattis would be able to put the two halves together and make a whole "without the benefit of the blind guy" - the man has certainly seen his fair share of swastikas! ++ Detective Jim Dunbar for not being afraid to let us see that you were so deeply touched by the murder of Ben Crider - that hand on the forehead had nothing to do with understanding the M.E. findings and everything to do with understanding your own heart!
