Lt. Gary Fisk++for not being afraid to assign Jim to what were rookie cases so he could test his ability in the field. Detective Karen Bettencourt++for being honest about her feelings. She was one person who right from the beginning definitely didn't handle Jim with kid gloves. Christie Dunbar++for not calling and checking up on Jim his first day back.

Karma to you, dear mlm88, for breathing new life into a tried-and-true favorite . . . I think we could play this game ad infinitum (ad nauseum) just by riffing off The Pilot. Again . . . Detective Jim Dunbar + (For having the presence of mind to put in the 1013 Officer down call on the way into Lyman's kitchen.) Detective Karen Bettancourt ++ (For her slightly surprised admiration of Dunbar's memorizing of the squad room.) Lieutenant Gary Fisk ++ (For putting aside all pre-conceived notions and stereotypes to let Dunbar do the Lyman interrogation.) Detective Karen Bettancourt - 44 Detective Jim Dunbar - 41 Lt. Gary Fisk - 33 Christie Dunbar - 30 Detective Marty Russo - 30 Detective Tom Selway - 11 Dr. Alan Galloway - 6 Holy cow! Karen's ahead of Jim?! Is this an interruption of the time/space continuum? Or did I screw up the scoring again?

Detective Jim Dunbar+for remembering his boy scout training and being prepared. Who knew that he would find a need for that baggie he slipped into his pocket that morning? Detective Karen Bettencourt--for not telling Jim what she had in mind when she upped and left him to follow Lyman into the kitchen. He was her only backup and she should have discussed it with him, not left him in the lurch. Detective Marty Russo--poor guy has dandruff issues and perspiration problems, and then, topping it off, the new guy walks in, perfect hair and never breaks a sweat, no matter what he throws his way! Detective Karen Bettencourt - 42 Detective Jim Dunbar - 42 Lt. Gary Fisk - 31 Christie Dunbar - 30 Detective Marty Russo - 28 Detective Tom Selway - 11 Dr. Alan Galloway - 6 I think that Fisk should have 31 not 33 points. If I'm wrong, please correct it.

Oh man this is so funny!!! And so true. How on earth did he keep his cool, in a long sleeve shirt, suit jacket and then a full length coat? Ice man. And never a hair out of place at work, you are so right. The non reality part of TV that I adore.

I think that Fisk should have 31 not 33 points. If I'm wrong, please correct it. I think you're correct. Now I'll get him back to 33. Lt. Gary Fisk ++ for "You can do this job without a gun." Detective Marty Russo ++ for "You have earned your place here." Detective Tom Selway ++ for "We got your back, Jim." Detective Karen Bettencourt - 42 Detective Jim Dunbar - 42 Lt. Detective Jim Dunbar + (For having the presence of mind to put in the 1013 Officer down call on the way into Lyman's kitchen.) Hmmm, shelves in the hallway sans a ceramic chicken of course!

Detective Jim Dunbar+for not getting caught up in the whole cop/fireman thing. Detective Marty Russo--for acerbating an already prickly situation by telling Dean about how his aunt's jewlery went missing after a fire. Dr. Alan Galloway--those chairs! Bad enough if you had to pay him a visit in the first place but you could get a complex just trying to get out of those chairs gracefully!

Christie Dunbar++for understanding that Jim was uncomfortable at dance class and offering him an out. Lt. Gary Fisk++for reassigning Dean to Jim and Karen even though "he didn't do that". Detective Tom Selway--for apparently not realizing where the line of questioning was going with Dean and stopping Marty before it got ugly.

+ Detective Desireable, oops Dunbar for making sure an innocent man didn't go to jail for a crime he didn't commit... ( sigh) Karen ++ for looking for her partner- even though she wasn't sure he didn't have it in for the guy and then for that amazing look when he opened the handkerchief Gary Fisk ++for being so in tune that he knew something was up on the roof and for being such a hardass with Semple ( yay!) oh shit just noticed he's dead. um better find another. Christie for that look of utter disbelief when Jim says he'd rather lose his sight than his courage. You'd rather it was the other way right Christie? Whoa! Get back, Loretta! Fisk is dead, ashatan? Don't think so, although I'd be willing to quietly dispatch him to retirement and that little charter boat business in Florida. Let's rethink this: Detective Jim Dunbar - 43 Detective Karen Bettencourt - 42 Lt. Gary Fisk - 35 Christie Dunbar - 32 Detective Marty Russo - 28 Detective Tom Selway - 11 Dr. Alan Galloway - 4 I think this is where we are after your post: Detective Jim Dunbar - 44 Detective Karen Bettencourt - 44 Lt. Gary Fisk - 37 Christie Dunbar - 32 Detective Marty Russo - 28 Detective Tom Selway - 11 Dr. Alan Galloway - 4 If not, I know someone out there (like perhaps the ever-vigilant and mathematically astute mlm88) will correct me. ;D And now: Detective Jim Dunbar + (For taking a beat before answering Fisk, thus bestowing on us this lovely screencap) Detective Karen Bettancourt -- (You knew the guy was behind the eight ball, but you had to hit him -- his first day back after a year -- with Anne Donnelly? Slack, sweetheart, cut the Blind Dude a little slack!) Christie Dunbar -- (You can't even talk to your beleaguered husband without a glass of chardonnay in hand? Not so smart, darlin'.) Detective Jim Dunbar - 45 Detective Karen Bettencourt - 40 Lt. Gary Fisk - 35 Christie Dunbar - 30 Detective Marty Russo - 28 Detective Tom Selway - 11 Dr. Alan Galloway - 4

Aaaaaah . . . once upon a time this was the hottest game in town. Started by the Mighty Shmeepster way-a-a-ay back on December 7th, 2005 (Bombs away, anyone?), we loved it, we couldn't get enough of it, and well I remember midnight coming so I could start my new posts for the day. But nothing lasts forever, and by the time our (Keep smiling!) newbie member Chris came along, the Survival Game had been on life support for a few months. I hate loose ends. What say while we're waiting to figure out what is our all-time favorite line of dialogue or moment from each episode, let's put the old warhorse to bed? Why not? It was great fun but it was just one of those things, to quote The Divine Mr. Porter. Here's the deal. Work in five-point increments. Post as often as you want: double post, that is, but please no triple posting. Say what you've said before -- no harm, no foul -- but this time say it for Auld Lang Syne. We all know who's going to win, right? Duh. Our Jimmy -- he wins every time. If you're too softhearted to "kill off" a character, then relegate them to the cutting room floor or send them off to that little retirement charter boat business in Key West (every NYPD cop's dream). My turn: Detective Jim Dunbar +++++ (For being so damned intriguing, and for bringing us all together. Here we are, a year and a half later, and may I say: Thanks, Jimmy.) Christie Dunbar - - - - - (Five minusses for your crispy and insensitive attitude, all leading to Jim's classic pronouncement: This is incredible. You're going to do this now? You're going to do this today? It's all about timing, Sweetheart, and yours was rotten.) Dr. Alan Galloway +++++ (For that glorious line that opened the dialogue: "I'd be scared.") (What, no screencap? And a half a page of our RATT photobucket album is filled with shots of Jim amd Lyman from The Pilot. Karma for the big fix, bjo and lori. ) Th-th-th-that's all folks. Let's do this, together. We will make it work . . . Detective Jim Dunbar - 48 Detective Karen Bettencourt - 40 Lt. Gary Fisk - 37 Christie Dunbar - 27 Detective Marty Russo - 28 Detective Tom Selway - 11 Dr. Alan Galloway - 9

It was great fun but it was just one of those things, to quote The Divine Mr. Porter. Speaking of the dialogue and moment games--shall we do more polls? If maggie and shmeep have time, of course, to set them up--I'm itching to vote again!!
