It's official. We're stuck on the old game. Are we done here? Yeah. We've said all that can be said about such minor characters as Walter Clark and Artie (the hygenically challenged) Steckle. So just for Auld Lang Syne -- and the sheer hell of it -- let's give it one last shot with ONLY the major characters. And no pouring sweetness and light and maple syrup all over Jim Dunbar, for crying out loud. Please. Let's be snarky. Let's be salty. The admins will be awarding daily karma for the most creative, sarcastic, or purely amusing post. ;D Once again, here's how we start: Detective Jim Dunbar - 15 Detective Karen Bettancourt - 15 Christie Dunbar - 15 Dr. Alan Galloway - 15 Lt. Gary Fisk - 15 Detective Tom Selway - 15 And here's the deal: You can play three times a day, and, as before, play with three characters. You can either plus or minus the characters 2 points with every play . . . with one exception. You can minus Jim two points but you can only plus him one point. It's all about at least the semblance of a level playing field. First character to reach 100 points? Game over. The end. Finis. I'll start. Detective Jim Dunbar - - (For hiding his most excellent self under that stinkin' Burberry all . . . day . . . long.) Dr. Alan Galloway - - (Cardigan sweaters for men went out with Fred MacMurray.) Detective Gary Fisk + + (For speaking your mind, always. Not just a privelege of rank -- more like a great character trait.) Detective Jim Dunbar - 13 Detective Karen Bettancourt - 15 Christie Dunbar - 15 Dr. Alan Galloway - 13 Lt. Gary Fisk - 17 Detective Tom Selway - 15

I'll play! Detective Jim Dunbar -- for saying he found the embroidery receipt ("Leap of Faith") when Karen found it Detective Karen Bettancourt -- for hitting Jim with "Anne Donnelly -- friend of mine" on his first day back Lieutenant Gary Fisk -- for grabbing Jim and dragging him into Karen's desk, also on his first day, resulting in this reaction from Marty Detective Jim Dunbar - 11 Detective Karen Bettancourt - 13 Christie Dunbar - 15 Dr. Alan Galloway - 13 Lt. Gary Fisk - 15 Detective Tom Selway - 15

OK you want mean?: Jim Dunbar - - For not giving that left hook to Marty right there in Fisk's office. Christie Dunbar - -For wearing that low cut dress to work with Clay. Karen Bettancourt- - He only asked you what color your eyes were. No need to get so defensive. Detective Jim Dunbar - 09 Detective Karen Bettancourt - 11 Christie Dunbar - 13 Dr. Alan Galloway - 13 Lt. Gary Fisk - 15 Detective Tom Selway - 15
+ Jim Dunbar for going with his buddy to see the widow, even if he didn't agree +Tom Selway for noticing Karen had left Jim out in the cold and stepping in. "This way Jim..." -- Karen for leaving Jim out in the cold and wondering which way to the body... Detective Jim Dunbar - 10 Detective Karen Bettancourt - 10 Christie Dunbar - 13 Dr. Alan Galloway - 13 Lt. Gary Fisk - 15 Detective Tom Selway - 16
modified to clear typo's!

Oops . . . my bad. This is what happens when you take the list from an old game to start a new game. Uh . . . where's Marty? He was dead in the old game, and I didn't notice his absence until the ever-sharp mlm88 pointed it out. So here's the new list. Detective Jim Dunbar - 10 Detective Karen Bettancourt - 10 Christie Dunbar - 13 Dr. Alan Galloway - 13 Lt. Gary Fisk - 15 Detective Marty Russo - 15 Detective Tom Selway - 16 Question: Should we add back in Terry Jansen just because it's so much fun to slam the guy? I mean, in terms of his impact on Dunbar, I'd say he qualifies as a main character!

And here's my first for the day, and thanks, one and all, for some great posts! Detective Marty Russo - - (New guy shows up and within ten seconds Marty's reminding him of the day he got shot. Guess he never heard the old adage, "Don't talk of rope in the house of the hanged.") Detective Jim Dunbar + (For taking crap from Marty all . . . day . . . long and not whacking him with his cane a la Mark Watt. (Mean is good but hey! I'm not immune to the man's charms.) Christie Dunbar - - (For verbally bitch-slapping Dr. Galloway.) Detective Jim Dunbar - 11 Detective Karen Bettancourt - 10 Christie Dunbar - 11 Dr. Alan Galloway - 13 Lt. Gary Fisk - 15 Detective Marty Russo - 13 Detective Tom Selway - 16

For Jim Dunbar- - and for Marty Russo - - For horsing around with a loaded gun in a crowded room. It's a wonder you both didn't get a reprimand for this. For Karen Bettancourt + + For putting a stop to their childish game and probably saving them a chewing out by Fisk. Detective Jim Dunbar-09 Detective Karen Bettancourt - 12 Christie Dunbar - 11 Dr. Alan Galloway - 13 Lt. Gary Fisk - 15 Detective Marty Russo - 11 Detective Tom Selway - 16
Dr. Galloway + For not calling Jim out on his poor calendar skills (actually script error, but a salient point, nonetheless).
Marty Russo + For appealing to my cheapskate nature and retrieving his coins from behind the desk, even if Jim had to bash his shins. Hey, money is money!
Tom Selway -- For his poor Scottish accent.
Detective Jim Dunbar - 9 Detective Karen Bettancourt - 12 Christie Dunbar - 11 Dr. Alan Galloway - 14 Lt. Gary Fisk - 15 Detective Marty Russo - 12 Detective Tom Selway - 14

++ Dr. Alan Galloway for having the balls of steel to wear that cardigan. + Jim Dunbar for never stepping on Christie's feet with those Sideshow Bob feet of his. ++ For drinking one more glass of wine instead of openly mocking Jim about those Sideshow Bob feet of his.
Dr. Alan Galloway - 16 Lt. Gary Fisk - 15 Detective Tom Selway - 14 Christie Dunbar - 13 Detective Marty Russo - 12 Detective Karen Bettancourt - 12 Detective Jim Dunbar - 10
Yes folks you read correctly: Detective Jim Dunbar is bringing up the rear.
Three cheers to Maggie for a new and fun spin on an old game!

Question: Should we add back in Terry Jansen just because it's so much fun to slam the guy? I mean, in terms of his impact on Dunbar, I'd say he qualifies as a main character! NO NO! In fact I wouldn't even have put Galloway in there. Keep it short and sweet.

Okay, okay, okay. No Terry. Sheesh. Salt and snark notwithstanding, I better get busy with Dunbar. Who would play if he were out of the game? Not me! Detective Jim Dunbar + (For playing with your little jingly ball instead of clocking the Missus after her "you need your dog" crack.) Christie Dunbar - - (For making that snotty little comment in the first place.) Dr. Alan Galloway - - (After working with cops -- and presumably their marital problems -- for years, he couldn't do couples therapy without "retraining?") Lt. Gary Fisk - 15 Dr. Alan Galloway - 14 Detective Tom Selway - 14 Detective Marty Russo - 12 Detective Karen Bettancourt - 12 Christie Dunbar - 11 Detective Jim Dunbar - 11

Detective Karen Bettencourt--for holding that grudge against Jim while at the same time failing to be mad at Walter when it was he who failed to come to her about Nick in the first place! Detective Tom Selway++for not trying to lead when he and Jim tangoed in the locker room. Detective Jim Dunbar+for sucking it up and asking how Anne was when confronted with their affair by his new partner
Detective Tom Selway-16 Lt. Gary Fisk - 15 Dr. Alan Galloway - 14 Detective Jim Dunbar-12 Detective Marty Russo - 12 Christie Dunbar - 11 Detective Karen Bettencourt-10
It was a tough call -- since you're all being so clever and divinely snarky! -- but my karma of the day goes to doobrah, for the spit take I did when I read this line. Marty Russo + For appealing to my cheapskate nature and retrieving his coins from behind the desk, even if Jim had to bash his shins. Hey, money is money!

Aah, it's like slipping into a comfy old bathrobe, playing this game again. Since I'm in a "Marlon's Brando" kind of mood . . . Christie Dunbar - - (For her mood-flattening response to Jim's request to pick it up later: "I'm out tonight -- it's Fashion Week." Let's see. Stand in Bryant Park watching bad fashion shows with every wannabee in town, or plead headache and hurry home to the blond dude? To steal from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, "She chose poorly.") Detective Jim Dunbar + (Cane as weapon. "He chose wisely.") Detective Marty Russo - - (Nasty, nasty, nasty, throughout the entire episode. And the Helen Keller crack was just plain tacky.) Detective Tom Selway - 16 Lt. Gary Fisk - 15 Dr. Alan Galloway - 14 Detective Jim Dunbar - 13 Detective Karen Bettencourt - 10 Detective Marty Russo - 10 Christie Dunbar - 9

Jim Dunbar + For turning into SuperTed and flying across a table in a single bound to attack our favorite Latin Gentlemens.
Lt Gary Fisk + For knowing that a great deli sandwich beats the Pissed-Off Stepsisters (which, in the tradition of Dave Barry, would be a great name for a band) any day.
Karen Bettencourt -- For blaming someone's (Jim's) good intentions instead of recognizing her poor choice in men.
Detective Tom Selway - 16 Lt. Gary Fisk - 16 Dr. Alan Galloway - 14 Detective Jim Dunbar - 14 Detective Marty Russo - 10 Christie Dunbar - 9 Detective Karen Bettencourt - 8
