Here are the top moments compiled from The Pilot. You may vote for three moments at a time and may add or subtract up to two per moment per turn. You may not take two turns in a row.
15*"He's empty, Terry! Take the shot!" 15*The bullet scoring across Jim's temple. 15*Jim's eyes after his dream in the opening scene. 15*Jim works out with his Judo instructor. 15*Jim's reaction to "Anne Donnelly, friend of mine." 15*"Like . . . totally blind?" 15*“You have to do this now?” 15*Jim plays ball against the wall. 15*Jim finding his way around the squad room. 15*Jim walks solo from his desk to Fisk's office for the first time. 15*"Tell me that gun on your hip is plastic and we got no beef…" 15*Karen offers her arm to Jim for the first time. 15*Jim pulls himself together to aim at Randy Lyman. 15*Jim "accidentally" whacking Lyman with his elbow. 15*Jim and Karen's touching moment at the end.

--*Jim "accidentally" whacking Lyman with his elbow.---don't think it's right, cop violence, even if it's minor! ++Jim finding his way around the squad room.--way to go Jim! ++*Jim walks solo from his desk to Fisk's office for the first time.--another way to go Jim!
I gave reasons this time, but I am glad the rules say we don't always have to. After a while, we start repeating ourselves.
Great game Shmeep!

++ "He's empty, Terry." Got our attention -- big time! -- plus it set up everything to come: Jim's frustration with Terry, Terry's cowardice and inaction, and the events of UotR.
++ "Like . . . totally blind?" First genuine laugh, and Jim's expression is priceless.
-- Jim works out with his judo instructor. Great eye candy and it showed the character to be determined and fit, but, in the end, a cheat because it was never really referenced again.

How come "You don't need me -- you need your dog." never made it on to the list? It says so much about Christie's character. I'm just sayin . . . Oh well, as Emily Litella used to say, "Never mind."

++ Jim finding his way around the squad room--shows courage, determination and pride (and wouldn't Jim hate all those words?) ++ "Like . . . totally blind?"--I love that line! --The bullet scoring across Jim's temple.--Even though there would be no show without it, it's sad (I'm trying to be a little negative)

++ Jim walking solo into Fisk's office- coming only a day after Fisk walked him into a file cabinet. Love the look on everyones face including Hank. -- Because we have to knock some out, Kim Chenowith annoyed me. "can you see" "Like totally" -- Jim with the judo instructor, much too short.

++Karen offers her arm to Jim for the first time-Karen is willing to give assistance and Jim recognizes that he has to be willing to accept it. ++Jim's eyes after his dream in the opening scene-even after a year, the shock and trauma of the shooting are still evident. --Jim works out with his judo instructor-- they should have shown how Jim used his hearing to keep track of his opponent instead of those "blobs"

++Jim plays ball against the wall. -- Very impressive. --Jim pulls himself together to aim at Randy Lyman. -- Pulling a gun in the first episode gave too much fuel to those who were calling the premise ridiculous. As much as we liked that scene, the show might have had a better chance had it not fallen into that trap. I wish Jim could have used his superior Judo skills to save Karen. ++Karen offers Jim her arm for the first time -- So well acted and a turning point for both characters.

-- "The bullet scoring across Jim's temple" - A little too graphic and way to depressing for me. ++ "Jim works out with his Judo instructor" - Man I love those throws. ++ "Jim walks solo from his desk to Fisk's office for the first time" - One word TRIUMPH!

++ Karen and Jim's touching moment at the end -- what, no votes for this one yet?* It's only perfection! -- Jim working out with his judo instructor. The Pilot is soooo tight -- why waste precious seconds on something you're never going to mention again? And it used that hinky special effects shape thingy. ++ Jim pulls himself together to aim at Randy Lyman. We could start a new thread to go back and forth on this one, Shmeep! Not only beautifully acted, but sets up "To carry or not to carry" at the beginning, and the struggle beween old instincts and new realities. Maybe if Bochco hadn't put it in the opening credits?! 23*Jim finding his way around the squad room 21*Jim walks solo from his desk to Fisk's office for the first time. 19* Karen offers Jim her arm for the first time 17*Jim plays ball against the wall. 17*Jim's reaction to "Anne Donnelly, friend of mine." 17*"He's empty, Terry! Do you mean the moment when she says Brown, etc.? and he walks away? I just wanted a little clarification.

Bebe, babe, how many points are you plussing and minusing? You seem to be doing it at random! Two ++ literally mean two points and so forth. I think you're just writing down the moments you want to vote for, but are then not adding or subtracting any points! +++ Karen and Jim's touching moment at the end -- I loved his facial expression! +++ “You have to do this now?” -- that was totally awesome! Shows her selfishness and Jim just lets her have it! + Jim finding his way around the squad room - HOT! I'm going to assume you meant to add two for each of these moments (two is the max but it is possible to just add one) and then I'll add them into the totals. 25*Jim finding his way around the squad room 21*Jim walks solo from his desk to Fisk's office for the first time. 19*Jim and Karen's touching moment at the end. 19* Karen offers Jim her arm for the first time 17*“You have to do this now?” 17*Jim plays ball against the wall. 17*Jim's reaction to "Anne Donnelly, friend of mine." 17*"He's empty, Terry!
