I don't know why, but I've always had extremely vivid dreams that I'm able to remember. I can't always explain what it is that's going on in those dreams, but the images of them sometimes linger for quite a while.
The dream I had the other night about being on a subway headed for Hogwarts as the rumor spread that Fred Weasley had given someone syphilis made me realize that sometimes these dreams are too odd not to share.
I went through phases with dreams. I had a large number of wedding nightmares in the years before I was married. Once I dreamed that everyone I knew was coming to my wedding and it was being held in my parents dirt-heap of a back yard. As I stood there in the dirt in my wedding dress, it hit me that I had forgotten to get a groom. I tried to explain it to everyone and they told me I had to go through with it and marry...myself. So embarrassing.
I was a photographer at Sears Portrait Studio for six years and the nightmares that place inspired still stay with me. In one, I was just waking up, all cozy in my bed, when the door to my bedroom opened and it was a mother and her kids expecting me to take their portraits. "One package of each of them separately and one of all of them together" of course. I ended up having to take the portraits in the driveway with the garage door as a background as my brothers shot hoops around us.
Once I even had to get married AT Sears Portrait Studio. I believe I was chained to Camera Room 2 at the time.
But nothing, NOTHING, is stranger than the time I dreamed my house was surrounded by evil squirrels. Thousands of them for as far as I could see, holding my family hostage. My dog was out in them so I let him in and a squirrel was attached to his tail, its body stiff and sticking out from that tail at a right angle. Once I got it off my dog, it started tearing through the house, wrecking everything in sight. I awoke shaking over the horror of it. Within seconds, I was laughing at how scary those squirrels had been.
So...any skilled dream interpreters out there? I almost don't want to know what any of this means on a psychological level.

I hardly ever remember my dreams. I'd say I don't dream, but technically everyone does all the time, just some of us don't remember them. Apparently we dream when we have entered Stage 4 of the 4 sleep stages, REM sleep (not my favorite band, but Rapid Eye Movement). I have heard that when we remember our dreams, it means we have woken up in Stage 4 sleep, instead of progressing naturally back to Stage 1 and wakeup. So this can happen with our alarm clocks or other external wakeups, or a scary dream itself might wake us up. I sleep really well and always have, so maybe not dreaming is a good thing. It's certainly peaceful. Hope I haven't put any of you to sleep with my explanation--or if you are sleep deprived, maybe that's a good thing!

I have extremely vivid dreams. Wild, colorful dreams. I don't sleep well, so it's probably why I remember so many.
One of the recurring dreams I have is of tornadoes. I see the sky getting darker, with that low line of clouds that comes with impending storms. Suddenly the funnels will begin to drop from the clouds, sometimes many at one time. I always seem to be the one trying to warn people to take shelter, and sometimes it's not exactly good shelter that is available. I once was in a big tent, like a circus tent sort of thing, with the sides up, and saw the storm coming. I yelled at people to run for the ditch, and I grabbed hold of a tent stake as the tornado roared past. When I looked up out of the mud, everything was gone around me, but I was ok. Very scary. These dreams always seem to portend a big change in my life of some sort. Sometimes good, sometimes bad. But something that stirs me up.

I always used to dream about tornadoes, too! Every spring. I always survived because I'd scare myself so much I'd wake up in the middle of the dream. I didn't have any of those dreams last year, though, so maybe I'm done. Living in the midwest, they were scary. Here's hoping! And Shmeep, thanks muchly for the evil squirrel dream My dreams tend to revolve around warped logic. One dream, I was trying to buy my parents a souvenir, and I was in Alaska, where they'd never been, so I wanted to find the niftiest thing for them. I went to Wal-Mart (don't ask me why, as I'm actually scared of Wal-Mart), and they had a whole row of snow globes. I thought that was fitting, being Alaska, but I couldn't decide which one because the aisle just kept getting bigger and bigger. And in real life, I'm a terrible decision maker, too. Then I realized I was going to miss my plane, so I called my grandpa. He said that wouldn't be a big deal because he could either take a submarine to France to pick me up, or fly to Boston. I spent a looong time thinking it through logically, and decided it would be faster if he took the submarine to France, and that way I'd have a little longer to pick out the best souvenir. I can usually tell where my dreams come from though, because I'll remember little snippets, no matter how inconsequential, that happened in my life and then my brain wrapped around them and they showed up in my dreams. A week ago I found a copy of the Last Supper at my local video store, and the movie next to it had the title of Dill something... That night I accepted a date with some very tall dude named Dill. The funny thing was, I forgot all about the dream until I walked into work the next morning, which is where the dream Dill asked me out, and I thought, Do I have a date tonight? --GB

A few months back I had a dream about Blind Justice. I was sort of in the episode and sort of not (my dreams tend to jump around a bit). All I remember is the ending in which, Jim and Marty and some other people (I'm not sure who) were playing a card game (Euchre, maybe) in my Grandma's kitchen. They were playing with Braille cards and I remember thinking in my dream "I hope I have my VCR set." and "I can't wait until I get online and read the forums disscussion on 'Jim actually can read braille'". So you guys made it into my dream. Does that mean I spend too much time here?

Hey, GB...here's what the site said about tornado dreams:
" Tornados To see a tornado in your dream, suggests that you are experiencing some extreme emotional outbursts and temper tantrums. Is there a situation or relationship in your life that may be potentially destructive?
To dream that you are in a tornado, signifies that you are feeling overwhelmed and out of control. You will be met with a series of disappointments for the next week or so. Your plans will be filled with complications.
To see several tornadoes in your dream, represent people around you who are prone to violent outbursts and shifting mood swings. It may also symbolize a volatile situation or relationship. "
Wooboy, is that ever the truth. Since I've been single, I haven't had those multiple tornado dreams.

Last night I had two nightmares. I only remember the first one though. In it I was moving into a new dorm room that was really big (At least 25x25) that I was supposed to be sharing with 3 other people (1guy, 2 girls) and I remember going into my closet in this giant dorm room and looking out the window (and not it wasn't a walk in closet , just a regular little closet that happened to have a window in it) and I was looking out the window (and I was 3 or 4 stories up) and saw a guy on the ground pointing a rather large barrel gun at me. And then I'm sitting in the lap of this older lady (I don't know who she was) and crying and telling her all the things I hate about school such as my dorm room has no carpet, I don't have any friends here to go eat in the cafeteria with and how much I hate going to a "school thats well know for dead people". All of those thoughts are more or less true. So what does this mean? I watched Numb3rs the night before could this cop show connection be where I'm getting the gun dream from?

I had a strange little dream the other night. Musta spent too long on the board!
I somehow came into posession of an alternate version of Blind Justice. I think Anita sent them to me. There were some weird problems with shutting down this weird alcove area full of stairs where I happened to be sort of working as a side job, so I finally just left all these people huddled in there waiting for a seminar to start.
In the alternate version of Doggone, they cut the bit at the end where Karen interviewed Debbie (because Canadian's can get the good TV scenes that we all miss because of ratings sweeps!), and they had left in the original scene near the end, where Karen and Jim (still dressed in that leather jacket as Ted) were walking with Sonny up these stairs outside, wide stone stairs, and Jim had this, like, fence post, instead of a cane, and it had a birdhouse or something like a pagoda on the end, but it worked pretty well anyway. Late evening. There was some building to their right, white stone like in DC, walking up toward the late evening sun. They were discussing how the undercover gig had gone down, things that had gone well, and all the different things they'd planned out that hadn't happened right. Jim was in the middle, Karen on his right, Sonny on his left, and Karen was laughing at something, then Jim said something to Sonny, praising him, as it was "classic" and Sonny was sort of puffing up, going "well, yeah, Dunbar." Then they were talking about either Fisk or the Chief, as it faded out to the credits. I think Karen said something about, "we should have let them in on it, too."
The volume wasn't very loud, but I couldn't turn it up, as I'd snuck upstairs to watch, leaving all these people in the building who weren't supposed to be there anyway, all huddled together on these carpeted platforms in the alcove. But I figured, hey, now that I have the DVDs, I can watch them again later, I want to see how it all happens, forget memorizing the dialogue yet.
And they cut the dancing stuff out of the next episodes! I didn't get to watch them, but I just knew they'd done that. And I think Mary and Kathy were either watching with me, or watching over the phone with me, and we were talking about them. But they were either sitting behind me or on the phone, because I don't know what they look like, since I've only talked to them in chat and on the board, so I knew in the dream that I couldn't turn around and look at them.
I don't know what was with all the stairs! And it really made me think of the picture I have in my head of everyone on the board here, as I've never seen any of you, makes me wonder if I'm at all close. So far from those NYC pics, I'm 0 for 4. ;D
And then last night I had this dream where I was wandering around Lowes looking for some yard stuff, and I was in the furniture and sewing section, completely lost, and I bumped into Alice! There were massive rolls of fabric everywhere, stretching floor to ceiling, so I couldn't see my way out.
FYI, Alice, you're about thirty, have blonde, wavy hair that goes halfway down your back, and you were wearing a long white nightgown, a la Sandy in Grease. Your sister was with you, and you asked me to help with your wedding. There was some elaborate ritual you needed to do involving literature! I think you had to memorize some dialogue, as did the mystery guy who I never got to see, and then the ceremony would be the recitation of this non-poetic early 20th-century Shakespeare... So we sat around Lowe's helping with your wedding.
I hope all went well!
I really enjoyed how I got to see an alternate version of BJ. It was mostly the same, so I didn't know for sure why Anita had sent it to me, until all of the sudden Jim and Karen and Sonny were having this really interesting heart-to-heart about their earlier plotting and scheming. Perhaps Mary and Kathy can remember more? You both got to see it too!

Wow, you people dream like me haha. Totally random and bizarre! Most of the dreams I remember involve or include Tv Characters or actors. Mostly characters and I'm in the show, or a version of the show, or it's not a show but my 'real life' n the dream.
One of my first Blind Justice dreams involved me and Spoony working with Jim, and we referred to him as 'Blindman Jim' and it as all perfectly normal to us and him.
Another dream I had involved me and Jim going undercover at this fete/fair thing. There was a display from the Guide Dog people and they had a little course you could take a guide dog through, while wearing a blindfold, so you could feel what it was like to be blind for a time. Anyway, I was quite "meh' about the diea when Jim shoved Hank's harness into my hand and told me to take Hank and try it out. So I did. I did the 'basic' course then i got moved up to a more advanced course, this course had a steep staircase with many of the steps broken. Then there was a gunshot and Hank and I hid under the staircase. After a bit, we crawled out and a few seconds later there was another gunshot and Jim had leapt onto Hank and I and knocked us down. Then I woke up with my dog standing on my chest, looking at me lol.
I've also had several dreams that will continue on night after night which is always fun hehe. it's like wastching a tv show or soemthing- it's always exciting to see what's going to happen next!!!

This is really funny, because I tried to hire on at Lowe's as a kitchen designer (what I'm trained to do), and they wouldn't hire me because I couldn't lift a 50 lb bag of cow manure out in the garden center. I think now I might understand why Home Depot ran that ad about hiring so many para-olympians. If they have one, it's probably more than Lowe's. I wish I were still 30! I have blonde (thank you L'Oreal, I'm worth it) hair, straight as a string. I once had it long enough to almost reach my waist, but I cut it to go in the Navy. I just wonder who the *ahem* lucky fella was.

I passed out right after work Saturday and had a very strange dream. This was actually the closest my house has ever looked to reality in a dream.
I'd just gotten home from work and opened the garage door, though I didn't have my car, and there was a whole bunch of stuff, my computer, and a lady in there. Then I realized I'd needed someone to repair my computer or something, so it was okay. She was a mousy, very happy lady, and we get to talking about how the repairs are going, and finally she, all bubbly, asks if it's okay if they give their cat a bath (for her husband is upstairs doing lord knows what). I said it was okay to give the cat a shower, but neglected to tell her the shower was in the basement, then I left.
I come back to find more stuff in the garage and she's so happy to see me, and says, is it really okay to give our cat a bath? Again I tell her it's okay to give it a shower, and she blinks out, upstairs, then blinks back, and she understands my hint now, and she's rather irate, but pretends she's okay with it. So I take a moment to explain how we had to replace the entire bathroom because the previous owner had three cats and we had to replace the floor, the toilet, the sink, and the plumbing to the sink, and I am not going to do that again, so she can give the cat a shower, no problem.
I go upstairs, leaving her to stew, and I find my little tv in the hallway, the cord stretched all the way across the room, and I think this is odd, but everything else is in order. Then I turn around to find the hallway filled with mattresses and all sorts of stuff from my library and from this mystery room that appeared behind my bathroom that I wasn't using, and the lady's husband is moving my boxes into the hallway, and I realize, they're moving in! Since I don't use that room behind the bathroom, why not? Um, no!
So now I'm really mad. I don't want them washing their cat in my only bathroom, and there's no way I'm letting them live with me! I start yelling at the husband to put everything back, and get out of my house right now, and I hate you and forget fixing my computer and get out right now. He pretty much told me, I'd like to see you get us to leave, completely calm, but with an underlying antagonism, like you know no one has ever liked this guy before, except his wife who worships him.
I stalked back to the garage and he follwed and again I told them both to leave or I was gonna call the cops. He disappeared back upstairs and I tried to reason with her, but she just sat down at my computer and ignored me, so I pulled out my phone and decided to call my parents instead, but the readout is all funky and wonky and I realize before it starts ringing that the hubbie went upstairs and managed to scramble my phone calls. Even though I'd thought she was the computer expert, I was wrong, as he was the formidable force and I'd underestimated him, as he was the real genius. The phone rings and connects to this answering machine with his own bogus message, so I try to call my grandparents and it goes to a different answering machine of his. They were bizarre "places," but I don't remember what the messages were. I realize I'm trapped, and I can't leave or call the police or get them to leave.
All I can do is yell at them, and he comes back down and I decide to take him on. We go to the back corner of the garage and there's this miniature dirt and green racetrack with ribbons and flags and it gets really big and becomes outside with some early evening blue sky and trees, even though it had been dark and rainy in the "real" outside... There's an audience cheering and eight other racers and we join in. If I win, he'll leave.
But we all have sticks, like long skinny sticks, with a short string on the end, the stick part of the whip, adulterated, and as we trot around, the only way to win is to make sure the others don't. I'm in lane four and keep whacking people out of my way. But there's rules, for example, on the fourth lap, you can only whack people on the left elbow, so he's behind me whacking away at my left elbow and since that's the hand with my stick, and I'm supposed to just hold it out to be whacked, as we're not supposed to resist, I can't defend myself, and can only try to gallop faster. I manage to whap this big guy in front of me and he falls back and whaps the guy who moved into my shouse and I win. The guy who saved me said he'd rather I'd have won anyway. But I woke up before I could go home and evict them.
About a week ago I had a dream where I was working sort of in a library, but in a hallway, and some well-dressed guy in a suit came and said he was looking for something, and I'd know what it was, but I didn't, so he said it must not have come yet.
Then this other well-dressed man in a suit shows up and drops off a package and says some well-dressed guy in a suit is going to show up looking for it, but whatever I do, don't give it to him. Then I realize this second guy is like the devil, or a demon, and he disappears behind a box, and I follow and find he's turned into a frog, so I stabbed him with a straw, a letter-opener and a couple other little things, then realized no matter what, he was gonna keep squirming. Then I woke up.
I've never had such violent dreams before! Kinda bizarre. But I rather enjoyed the rules of the race. Very thorough.
