I'm just curious, I don't think this has been discussed but I was wondering exactly when the show was being filmed. Like when production began and ended. Does anybody know? I don't know, but I do have a film cannister dated Jan 26, 2005.

Anyone want to try to craft a question to send to the Q&A on Frank Grillo's web site?

Anyone want to try to craft a question to send to the Q&A on Frank Grillo's web site? maybe one of the many writers around here would be good at that.

Since we are winging off into all sorts of interesting topics like continuity and editing -- beyond the purview of if and when the DVD will be released -- I've just moved the last few posts into a new thread called 22 Episodes . . . ah, the possibilities!
See you there . . . and let the games begin!

I thought I would toss this in this column since it didn't concern continuity ect. Didn't RE say in one interview that he "knew how it ended", ie the show?? While you got the idea that Jim and Christie were finally on their way to working out there problems, FF definitely left you hanging. There was the whole 'embracing his blindness" topic that Bochco talked about and as others have said, Jim giving up his gun was just screaming to followed up on. 13 episodes just could not have been it!

. . . if Commander in Chief gets released on dvd before Blind Justice, there really is no justice! According to amazon.com, episodes 1-10 of Commander in Chief are being released on DVD on June 27, and episodes 11-18 will be released on October 3. Arrrggghhh!

I just took a look at tvshowsondvd.com and noticed that Invasion, a canceled ABC series from this past season, is coming out on DVD in August. Feeling kind of discouraged right about now. . .

Sigh. Why is it always about money? ( I know. I know.)Cause you know it is. So many other shows--like Invasion or Over There--come out like gangbusters and then there's this one. Someday, I keep telling myself. Someday.

Not only that, and I am a big fan of Invasion, last night I saw that they are thinking of making a made-for-tv movie of Commander in Chief to continue the story. That rates yet another arghhhh!

Over on www.tvshowsonDVD.com, they've announced that "The Book of Daniel" is coming out on DVD. All 8 produced episodes will be released on a 2-DVD set on Sept. 26. Only 4 were shown on NBC. TV Guide has an article about yet another canceled show, Threshold (which was on CBS), coming out on DVD -- including unaired episodes. Will someone, somewhere, please explain why the only show that hasn't come out on DVD is the one show we all want to come out on DVD? I don't really expect an answer, other than Murphy's Law. But I just had to vent a little!

Got a Google alert that maybe "Bakersfield PD" will be released on DVD as part of TR!O's "Brilliant But Cancelled" releases. The only problem with that is that so far, they have not released full series, just cherry-picked episodes.
For instance, the "Brilliant But Cancelled: EZ Streets" DVD has the 2-hour pilot and two subsequent episodes. They could easily have released the whole series of 10 (rant, Doobrah, rant!). This was another show where they had filmed 13 episodes and only 10 were produced. And the show really was brilliant -- written & produced by Paul Haggis, who also did "Due South" (my favorite Mountie), "Million Dollar Baby" & "Crash."

I saw in next week's TV Guide, that Threshold is being released 22 August for 56.99. The creator of the show was upset that it was cancelled early, saying he had ideas that went far into a season two and felt rushed to try and wrap up the series so fans could have a sense of closure. Anyway, there are only 12 episodes, 8 of them having been aired. Now, if we can just get the slow-pokes, the duck and dodgers to do something, anything about BJ--the 13 or preferably the 22 episodes!!!!!!

I have been quietly continuing my crusade for the release of Blind Justice on DVD, and asking questions of everyone and anyone I think might be able to shed some light on the subject. While I don't have any news to report, I have received some very interesting responses from some of the DVD blog authors I have contacted.
It seems they all agree that "Studios make their decisions about what to release in strange and mysterious ways.....also often the rights to a show are murky... so it may take a while for them to iron things out before releasing it."
As we were informed (by someone I think would know) there was a deal of some sort between Bochco, Twentieth-Century Fox and ABC television. Perhaps then that is the reason for the hold up on Blind Justice being released to the open marketplace.
All we can do is continue to hope!

I for one want to thank you for quietly going about trying to get info on this subject. If there is anything I can do to help, please let me know. I'll be more than happy to help, as will others I'm sure. Thanks for the update.
