Is it me, or does that black leather jacket look suspiciously like Ted's? Nicely broken in, wherever it came from. I wondered the same thing, so I checked out the screencaps of Ted in "Doggone." After careful study ;D, I don't think it's the same jacket, but the overall look is definitely reminiscent of Ted! Edited to add: What the heck, any excuse for a Ted screencap!

This is a picture Mary took on May 6 - I don't think Mary will mind me posting it. This jacket has a funny rolled up cloth collar on it as did Ted's. Notice also the same (?) black shirt and he also had on the same (?) black jeans that night as he did in your photos. For some reason, we didn't take many pictures outside the stage door that night, and this one shows the jacket collar best. As far as getting Karma for posting pictures...it hasn't worked yet for me! modified to add: It was a VERY windy night - hence the wild hair.

At the risk of raising the controversial issue of RE's fashion sense once again - what is up with that black knit shirt? Do you think he has just the one - or did he buy a dozen on sale and he cycles through them? I've seen that shirt more than I have some items of my own wardrobe. (And yes, I do realize the implications of that statement.) I hope that Maggie is right and that he owns more than one black v-neck shirt. The one I have seen most has a seam across the front right below the V. I think it is very likely that the casual clothing worn by RE was his own. Here's a screen cap of our guy wearing another Black v-neck shirt - no seam.

As far as getting Karma for posting pictures...it hasn't worked yet for me! I'll give you karma Kathy for this picture you took back in March. I think it ranks way up there as one of the best stage door pics of Ron. So Karma to ya!

New Yorkers wear black. All . . . the . . . time. (I believe it's a city ordinance below 14th Street.) You find a black shirt you like? Buy a bunch of them -- black fades, especially if you have to use the laundromat. He dresses like a New York guy, that's all. I wish he had remembered that when he was trying to channel an Irish fisherman at the Freedomland premiere. Oops! And thank the dear Lord above that he does dress like a New York "guy" the Irish Spring look was not working for him.

Doubt -- with Cherry Jones -- is coming to San Diego October 31-November 5. There was an ad for it on TV this evening. The Doubt site hasn't been updated with information on the national tour, so I don't know what other cities will get to see the play. No information on the rest of the cast.

A Yahoo Alert with the following story arrived yesterday. I am so disappointed that once again it appears Ron Eldard is not receiving the recognition he so deserves for a job well done. But to blame the closing of this play on the "miscasting" of its two main stars? Sitting in that theatre, mesmerized by what was transpiring on that stage, I'm not sure how it could have been done any better or by anyone else! Theater Listings - Published: June 30, 2006 'DOUBT' After Sunday night, it will become much more difficult to give advice on what plays to see on Broadway. For the last 15 months, you couldn't go wrong with "Doubt," the rigorously intelligent and beautifully made American play that appealed to highbrows and blue-haired ladies alike. It quickly earned back its investors' money, as well as winning across-the-board raves, not to mention a Pulitzer Prize and an armful of Tony Awards. In a perfect world there would always be a play like "Doubt" running on Broadway, but after the initial rush of awards and reviews, maintaining a production without a single show tune can be a daunting task. If "Doubt" fell short of the blockbuster status of "Proof," which ran for more than two years on Broadway, the reason has more to do with casting than with the play. While the producers of "Proof" renewed interest in the show by plugging in talented actresses like Anne Heche and Jennifer Jason Leigh into the role that Mary-Louise Parker originated, "Doubt" never recovered from the loss of its stars, Cherry Jones and Brian F. O'Byrne. Ticket sales plummeted almost immediately, and the mixed reviews for Eileen Atkins and Ron Eldard, above ¡ª excellent performers who have had more success in other productions ¡ª didn't help, either. In the end, no matter how acclaimed "Doubt" was, it still needed the right actors to make it go, which is just another illustration of how delicate a Broadway hit can be. Ms. Jones, incidentally, will reprise her role on a tour that begins this fall. As for Broadway, next week will be a little less interesting, there's no doubt about it. (Walter Kerr Theater, 219 West 48th Street, Manhattan, 212-239-6200; through Sunday.) JASON ZINOMAN

I got the same alert and was also disappointed. RE and Eileen Atkins were nothing short of amazing. I too was mesmerized by what I saw. That was the fastest hour and a half in my life. Just like LL, to suggest that the show is closing because of miscasting, makes no sense to me. Maybe the show has just run its course.

LOL - check out that picture on the wall with Ron and Eileen Atkins - Pope Paul - sadly (telling my age now) I remember him! We had him hung on every single wall in Our Lady of Hope grammar school and yes, I even had nuns from the Sisters of Charity. I'm returning to therapy!
