I finally got around to reading Bochco's novel, "Death by Hollywood," and his take on David Caruso and his mental state are hilarious. Glad you read it -- really LOL funny, and he certainly knows the territory. Five minutes of CSI:Miami tells you David Caruso is a talentless, arrogant @sshole, but Bochco really clinches the deal. I read somewhere online that SB has finished the screenplay for Death by Hollywood. Hmmm . . . how about Edward Norton for the down-and-out writer (he can look really burned out), Ron Eldard for the LAPD homicide cop with the hidden agenda, and Kevin Spacey for the agent/narrator. And Sydney Pollock for the studio head.

I was flipping through the TV Guide which arrived in today's mail and noticed a letter describing "Horatio Caine" (David Caruso's character) as "wooden" and comparing him to "a surfboard with feet!" ;D

I was just enjoying a little laugh over at TWoP's CSI:Miami board. A while back I asked this question:
Someone over there responded with this:
The people at that board never disappoint. In response to a recent article in which David Caruso speaks of working out in order to be prepared for an upcoming love scene, the snarkers at TWoP are now speculating that seeing Horatio shirtless is ultimately what will cost Ryan his sight. I noticed they were a little hazy about what Ryan was doing in a love scene with Horatio in the first place, but that sounds like a whole other issue...

Watching this week's episode, it seems that Ryan's continuing eye problem was more of a ploy to try and rat out the mole in the lab. It came up when he was talking to Alex in the morgue after she questioned him about how he felt. Did anyone else think this? If so, why?

Yeah, I think that the public has been duped into even remotely caring what happens on CSI: Miami with the pre-season blurb about Ryan possibly losing his sight. What a lame excuse for a sub-plot. C'mon...let that sniper have a clear shot at HoCaine and end all our misery!

I will say one thing about CSI: Miami -- it never fails to live down to my expectations. Each week I think it can't possibly get any worse, then it does!
I do have one question. I assume that people generally don't set out intentionally to make something this bad (except in The Producers). So how did it get to be so awful? (I'm sure "David Caruso" is part of the answer, but I think there's more to the awfulness than just him).

The big crime this season was that Horatio didn't take that bullet instead of his new bride.

What is it with all the shoot outs in the season finales this time? Marisol gets whacked--not surprising in the least--Lt. Brass gets nailed in CSI and next week, House takes a couple from a disgruntled ex-patient. Just for the shock value or a convenient and simple way of getting rid of a character. Not that I think House is going anywhere! ;D
Marisol's demise made me think of all the brides that bit the dust in the old western Bonanza. Made you want to duck and cover if the Cartwright boys ever showed up at your front door!

You're probably too young to remember this . . . . . . but shooting a major character in the last ep of the season began with "Who shot J. R.?" Dallas was actually the show that started the whole concept of the season-ending cliffhanger. Before that? The characters just sat around and smiled at each other and cracked a few jokes, kind of the way Perry and Della and Paul used to sit around the office and boy! did I just date myself with that reference.

I remember. Unfortunately so do I (the JR part anyway), and good ole Perry thanks to the miracle of reruns.
