I just wondered something about Sonny. We first meet him in Rub a Tub. He worked with Dunbar. Did he have any dealings with Terry when he and Jim were partners???

I had never thought about this, but Sonny intimates in "Doggone" that he only works with Dunbar. Now that being said (!!), I think we can assume that Terry probably knows Sonny (as Dunbar's snitch), since Sonny in "Rub a Tub" says it's been a year since he's heard from Dunbar, but I don't get the sense that Sonny snitched for Terry.

This line of discussion is making me kind of sad. Can you imagine all the possibilities in future seasons?

Oh yeah, the writes could have done soooo much! It is a shame that they cancelled the show and Botchco didn't try to sell it to another network or cable.

I like "Rub a Tub Tub" very much, and for a specific reason. . . . Back when the show had just started, and well before the auction prices hit an insane level, I bought one of the promotional DVDs of the first three episodes on eBay. The picture and sound quality is just spectacular. . . . There is another of the promotional DVDs on eBay now: cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4758269510&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1The price is already up to $58.00.

I know this doesn't exactly have anything to do with this thread--well, it does and it doesn't. Anyway, o n Without a Trace last Thursday they found the suspect's van in the tunnel where Karen and Jim met Sonny.

While thinking about what was possibly my one (one!!!) favorite scene of all time ,I thought a close runner-up would be when Jim and Karen meet with Sonny the first time in the tunnel. Jim offers the services of his informant to try and get more information on the case. While waiting for Sonny to appear, Jim lounges against the car while Karen paces. She does not seem thrilled to be meeting with a wildcard(wonder if she had any snitches??) She is openly skeptical but decides to trust Jim when he says that Sonny is a reliable informant . She tells him someone is coming and Jim askes if he looks "dopey" (an accurate assestment of Sonny a delightfully scummy character !). Sonny proceeds to give Jim a hard time about not contacting him at all over the past year and one of my fav. lines comes from Karen in "what do you think he's been doing the last year, touring the country with Jimmy Buffett" Karen stands up for/defends Jim when Sonny gives him a hard time and Sonny was someone who has known Jim and worked with him longer than she has. Sonny wants back in as Dubar's snitch (and on his payroll) so he agrees to do some looking around.
In Sonny we have seen only the third person (other than Christie and Terry) to have known Jim when he was sighted and we learn some juicy tidbits in Doggone of what Jim was like before--such as the OK corral reference.

As Anna so aptly pointed out there are others who knew Jim before he lost his sight including Walter, Mrs.Berglas and Warren Doyle. As I put in response to her quick mind, I think I was thinking in episode order which would have put Sonny #3.--at least that is what I am admitting to anyway You sure have to be on your toes here--heehee

I assumed all along that was what you were doing! That's why I went back and recounted Walter as #6.

I'm watching Rub a Tub Tub right now and something that just hit me--laughing, hee hee--is that Marybeth is actually trying to play hostess! She has all this food sitting on her dining table, and while Jim interviews her, he's actually chewing on a cookie. It only lasts a second--he's a fast eater, wolfs it down. My apologies for the screencap--this is my first time trying to make one and it was still dark. How do you brighten the shots? Anyone, anyone? Bueller? Oh dear! It's tiny! But that is a half-eaten cookie in his right hand. And yes, I do believe Jimmy's elbow is on the table--for shame! Anyway, my biiiig question of the day is: Where'd Marybeth get the bodybag? Huh? Anyone, anyone? --GB

Here you go GB. I lightened it and enlarged it a bit which made it a bit blurry, but you can see the cookie and he does have his elbow on the table. You need a program to lighten pics. Being at the library, you probably don't have one.

Anyway, my biiiig question of the day is: Where'd Marybeth get the bodybag? Huh? Anyone, anyone?--GB Oh, let me guess. She called Eric on her cell, told him what she'd done, and he nipped by the Squad to pick one up on the way over . . . after all, booby that he was, Eric would have done anything for the scratchy-voiced, acid green-wearing, bottle blonde witch that she was . . . . . . so shoot me. It's a screencap of Dunbar. Who would you rather look at, Marybeth or Jimmy? ;D

In fact, we can look at the beautiful smile one more time can't we? Besides, having had the chance to meet you, you're too much fun to shoot. ;D
