(This is a poll--click on the thread title to enter your vote.)
Think back, think way way back.....Spring 2005.
Why did you first watch BJ? Not after you watched it, we all know why we continued with the show. But what made you tune in the very first time?
Was it your favorite blond dude? Are you addicted to anything with blindness in it? (gee, who could that be)
Something else, purely an accident of the TV dial?
Let's see our reasons for first tuning in to this wonderful show.

I cast my vote for "Bochco shows rule." As I said in my recap of The Pilot, I only vaguely remembered Ron Eldard from E. R. (blasphemy, I know), and I was bored to tears with Law & Order: SVU. So basically, I tuned in because it was the new Bochco.

Great idea for the poll! But what if more than one reason applies? Do we have to pick one, or can we vote for more than one?

I watched the first episode because of the promo. Ron totally had me at, "I'm going to tell you something and you can write it down in your little report . . ." I'm not sure what to pick on the poll. I guess I'll go with premise.

Great idea for the poll! But what if more than one reason applies? Do we have to pick one, or can we vote for more than one? Unfortunately with the polls, you can only pick one response. I discussed it with Shmeep before posting it and she thought that could be a problem if people had more than one reason. I guess just pick the main reason, or the strongest reason, if you can.

I picked premices because thats what struck me about the show when I first heard of it. I actually heard a comercial for it on the radio as I was driving through Wheeling trying to find the workshop of the guy who repairs insturments (I needed the pad replaced on my piccolo) and I remember hearing "I'm not a blind cop, I'm a homicide detective". And I was like WTF was that? Then I heard it again a bit later and decided to watch the show if I remembered when it was on.

I had to go with premise. I remembered Longstreet and was curious to what they would do with it. I also remembered RE from ER and Deep Impact. When I saw the first commercial, I was hooked and had the VCR primed and ready because I thought "they will probably cancel this". How prophetic!

This was my reason: Friend/Co-worker liked it.
Two of my co-workers kept telling me how good the show was and I FINALLY decided to watch...Doggone was my first episode and I was hooked. Once I tuned in, it was RE who drew me in. The two co-workers forgot all about it after it was cancelled. Needless to say, I did not.

Great poll thingy!!
I had heard about it and decided I would watch it when it came -(who could miss a show with a premise like this one!) however by the time it arrived (we have long lead ups here) my life was in a super busy phase and I hadn't turned on the TV for months - so basically forgot it was coming.
Got home from a late show one night at about 11:30 and thought I'd chanel surf a little and whao! There was a gorgeous blonde blind cop on the screen. It was Past Imperfect and I thought he was perfect and I was hooked and screaming over the internet for the ones I had missed!
hm, and now look at all the buddies I have in the US and Canada!

I saw the first commercial for Blind Justice on ESPN - a far away shot of Jim Dunbar and Hank - it didn't even take a close up of Ron for me to know it was him - it was that stride! At that point, I was hooked and so grateful that we were going to have another opportunity to welcome him into our homes on a weekly basis! (Ray Shepard was my first exposure to the abilities of this man - and at that point, as far as ER was concerned, it was George who?)
The premise thing came much later!
