Heyheyhey... This brings up two questions: 1) Whaaaaaaaat... You would suggest, instead, that we oughta be in the Fanatics or Embarrassing Moments threads? Absolutely not...unless you're an embarrassed fanatic. I'm not sure if I know what this means. Are you talking about how the location of Jim's locker seems to change week by week?

I'm not sure if I know what this means. Are you talking about how the location of Jim's locker seems to change week by week? I never noticed the lockers changing! I did notice that when Jim and Sonny went into the locker room to talk in the Pilot, there was a table with cards and stuff on it that we never seemed to see again. Also a coffee station that seemed to vanish, since after that it looked like they were getting coffee out of a vending machine. And the "regular" computer monitors on the desks in the squad room went to flat screen monitors after the Pilot. Which all means, I suppose, that you dress the set one way to film a Pilot, and there's substantial down time while you wait to see if the thing sells. Then you re-dress the sets. Insanely picky, or what?! Uh . . . absolutely.

No to embarrassed (but that doesn't mean others haven't suggested that I *ought* to be). I may have to 'fess up to fanatic. Just for the record... feigning ignorance works best if you don't add the answer. Yeah, you got it. So... musical lockers. Next week. Kyt

Just for the record... feigning ignorance works best if you don't add the answer. Okay, usually I don't say LOL because I'm not literally laughing out loud as I type it and it feels dishonest. But I really did just laugh out loud over this. I'm so glad you're back, Kyt! I've missed you. Yay! On to musical lockers, then. I'm up for it.

Now where was I? Oh yeah, putting all our Absolutely's in a row...
. . .
(1) Pilot
(2) Four Feet Under
(3) Rub a Tub Tub * Selway suggests suspect was someone Carl arrested. Dunbar: "Absolutely." * Mary Beth asks Bettancourt to let her know if they find out anything. Bettancourt: "Absolutely." * Dunbar to Mary Beth re: her possible infidelity: Dunbar assures her the information will "absolutely" remain in the squad.
(4) Up on the Roof - none noted so far -
(5) Marlon's Brando
(6) Seoul Man * Galloway to Dunbar: If Dunbar wants to come in on his own, that's "absolutely" available * Galloway to Dunbar: "absolutely" there are things Dunbar cannot do.
(7) Leap of Faith * Dunbar to Walter at the retirement party: "You're absolutely right." * After Jill Berglass rakes Dunbar over the coals after learning Doyle has been released, Russo: "That was rough." Dunbar: "She's absolutely right." * Dunbar (re: Sam Berglass): "Absolutely, but he was clean when I knew him" * Marty & Russo during interview with Virginia Purty. (?)
(8) Past Imperfect
(9) In Your Face
(10) Doggone * Drug thief Rory: when asked if he killed Bud: "Absolutely not."
(11) Dance with Me * Fireman Dean Bostic to Russo: "Am I free to go?" Marty: "Absolutely."
(12) Under the Gun * yes, no data
(13) Fancy Footwork * Selway, when asked if Misty West could have killed Les: "Absolutely." * Dunbar tells Anthony that if they let him go, they will "absolutely" tell Bo that Anthony is back on the street.

I love you Kyt! You are as obsessed as I am... Absolutely... By now I *ought* to be able to recite "Doggone" from memory. Obsessed? Naaah, just a healthy dose of... er... extreme preference. Yeah. Kyt

Hi Kyt, I am so happy to have found you all. And I was the one who brought up that ABSOLUTELY question a while back. I have been noting the episodes as I hear it. I have the numbers 3,7 6,7,12 where I have absolutely heard it. I am on a mission now to see if it is in all the other episodes. Tough work but somebody has to do it! I just watched the Pilot and it's there! When Jim and Karen interview the girl whose car was stolen early in the episode, she says: "My car was stolen and I absolutely have to get it back". There may have been others, but even though this is the fourth time I am re-watching all of these episodes - I still get caught up in the story and may have missed the use of "absolutely" again. I also watched for the neck crack - none; the lip bite - none; and my personal favorite "Are we alone?" - of which there were none.

In "Past Imperfect," Jim tells Greg he should "absolutely" let it go, when Greg says he wants to apologize to Middleton's widow.

I just happened to watch "Four Feet Under" this evening and didn't notice an "absolutely." Did anyone else notice one in this episode? There is a second "absolutely" in "Leap of Faith." After Jill Berglass rakes Jim over the coals after learning Doyle has been released, Marty comments, "That was rough." Jim's response: "She's absolutely right." I just watched Four Feet Under and if you listen to the background conversation at the dinner table in the dinner party scene, there is a definitely "absolutely" - a woman's voice.

Oh thanks to Kathy for finding that "absolutely" in the pilot. I was convinced there was not one in that episode. Looks like I will have to watch it again to verify. And you even heard one in the background conversation at the dinner party??? You are good. (obsessed but good). And mlm found one in Past Imperfect. Looks like Marlon's Brando and "In your face" are the only two left. So Kathy put your ear to the set and see if you pick it up in the background conversation.

OK Kyt, those two are official thanks to Kathy. So add them to the list. Kim, the owner of the stolen car in the pilot says she "Absolutely" has to get the car back with the dog's ashes. (Don't have exact quote). Then, probably the most obscure "absolutely" of all, in Four Feet Under, a woman at Clay's dinner party is heard saying the word at the dinner table just before Jim "gets clumsy". Great detective work Kathy!

Great detective work Kathy! OK Kyt , in one of your other posts you said you were going to check back on ABSOLUTELY. The previous chart you were keeping on this thread should have these added to it. Pilot and Four Feet Under in my quote above. Past Imperfect, when Hermanson says he wants to apologize to the widow, Jim says he "should absolutely let it go" Now I believe that leaves Marlon's Brando and In your Face without any documentation of the "word". Also Up on the Roof, which I think we found at one time, but not sure what it was. I will check that one today. (No no, you don't have to do it, I will force myself to watch Up on the Roof yet again, for the purpose of research). Also Under the Gun which we don't have documented, but I think it is when Jim asks Karen if she would still be his partner and she asks him to call her after the "coffee shop gun turn in program" and he replies 'absolutely". But not definite on this. (I still think the funniest one is in Four Feet Under which was found by Kathy. You have to really listen closely as it is just said at Clay's dinner table by a woman in the background.)

"Dance with me " is a yes too. Fireman Dean Bostic to Marty, "Am I free to go?" ABSOLUTELY, replies Marty. Also I forgot to add this one in my previous post here.

OK, now I am going to make MY sacrifice and watch Marlon's Brando right now to try to pick up an "absolutely". (I am so glad this topic has resurfaced). I'll be back later with the results, or lack thereof!
