The old thread's getting long and unwieldy, so here we go again: Oh, what the heck. Casablanca. One classic deserves another. Detective Jim Dunbar ++ "Of all the gin joints in all the world -- crack! -- she walks into mine." Detective Tom Selway + + "Boss, let's you and me take the car and go somewhere for a couple of days, get drunk . . . " Lt. Gary Fisk + + "Major Strasser's been shot. Round up the usual suspects." Detective Jim Dunbar - 245 Detective Karen Bettancourt - 131 Christie Dunbar- 76 Dr. Allan Galloway - 51 Lt. Gary Fisk - 35 Detective Tom Selway - 32 Walter Clark - 27 Artie Steckle-27 Chief Tunney - 22 The dear departed: 1 Nick Dyson 2 Terry Jansen 3 Sonny Famigletti 4 Detective Marty Russo

I guess I will also have to stick with the tried and true and continuing with my round of Terry bashing--
Detective Jim Dunbar++for actually giving Terry the time of day and sticking around to hear his apology even though your attitude and body language was screaming 'get away from me now!!!' , listening to the "same old bulls***" and for maybe a fraction a nanosecond believing Terry's story about what happened Up on the Roof Detective Karen Bettencourt++for knowing something was way wrong between Jim and Terry when you walked into the locker room but not pressing Jim to come clean Chief Tunney--you evidently believed Terry's story (whatever that was!) about what went down at the bank and how Jim ended up getting shot with YOUR gun in his hand but shame on you for not giving Terry some kind of reprimand or insisting that he had to get therapy.

Lt. Gary Fisk++for correctly reading Jim's body language and knowing that something was on his mind--now, if he could only learn to read Karen's! Detective Tom Selway++unlike Terry, he wasn't stuck with the politically correct Glen Semple! He was probably counting his lucky stars that he only had to deal with the type A, alpha male Marty Russo! Walter Clark++for not inviting Terry and Annie to his retirement party

Tom -- for not offering Jim a cup of coffee at the beginning of 'Dance with Me' Jim ++ for using a no nonsense tell it like it is voice with Pete to snap him out of the self-pity mode Christie ++ at least if she signed them up for dance class, she took the time to talk to the instructor ahead of time about Jim's blindness so it didn't create a more awkard situation later

OK, here I go my first try. Chief Turney ++ for accepting Jim's explanation in Doggone of why he was "Lost" when it could easily have beena reason to investogate Jim's compentence. Jim Dunbar ++ for being a blonde hunk, Oh and for giving Karenthe data on where the drugs came from instead of just screaming "Come and get me !!!!" Dt Karen Bettancourt -- for sitting on her a$$ in the squad room while her partner was possiblybeing shot, was definately being slugged in the gut, and was working hard to solve a murder. I would have liked her to be running after the car with Jim not wasting her time at the truck. =- een if the writers needed him alone, she could damn well have tried harder ( ooh that WAS a rant wasn't it!(PS did I do it right?)

"Parenthood Edition"
++ Jim Dunbar, the merry-go-round only goes around and around, "I happen to LIKE the roller coaster, okay?" ++ Dr. Allan Galloway, "...thanks to him today, well I'm the happiest, most confident and most well adjusted person in this world." -- Chief Tunney, "He likes to butt things... with his head"

Lt. Fisk ++ for not making a big deal out of Jim's decision to give up the gun, but just accepting it so matter of factly. Jim ++ for the punching bag scene Karen ++ for never letting anything she saw bother her--except the suicide--and who wouldn't be bothered by that one? She proved she's as tough as a guy when it comes to the gross things on the job

Loved the Parenthood edition, Mouse! I'm braindead today so it's back to The Pilot . . . but I am contemplating Annie Hall. Detective Jim Dunbar ++ "Thanks, now I know." A lovely moment. Detective Karen Bettancourt - - "Don't be putting your moves on me." Cut the guy some slack, sweetheart -- he just closed a case you've been working on for months. Christie Dunbar -- Dramatically unsatisfying as it would have been, how I wish she'd just put dinner on the table and kept her mouth shut! (What's with the chicken on the counter?) (What's with the chicken on the counter?) Ha! I've been wondering what's up with Christie's very incongruent chicken motif. If you notice the hallway down toward the bathroom, there's a large shelf with various items, and another chicken. I think I noticed it when Christie was yammering about the trip to Boston. --GB

Is that a chicken or a rooster?

I'm braindead today so it's back to The Pilot . . . but I am contemplating Annie Hall. a. You can never go wrong going back to The Pilot. 2. Annie Hall - Wahoo! I just watched Doggone, so here is my Doggone edition. It is way too much work for me to go hunting for screencaps. ++ Artie Steckle, oh Artie, what a sweetie. ++ Tom Selway, for setting up the meeting with Luis. -- Karen Dunbar, for being smart enough to know the cell phone company could triangulate his signal, and dumb enough not to realize they could only get a 2 mile radius. Is this the shelf you were talking about with the chicken in the upper left hand corner of the screen cap? Is that a chicken or a rooster? Yes! That's the shelf. You get another angle on it the morning they're talking about Boston; I'd never noticed it in this eppie, too, but good hunting! I do believe it is a rooster. I hope I didn't offend it by calling it a chicken. --GB

Jim ++ for having good ears Karen ++ for being a good partner and always supporting Jim even if it meant getting laughed at (ex. the colonge (Sp?) Tom -- for laughing at the idea since a lot of Jim's other ideas had worked out so far
