You know I love hockey and that my team stunk this year except for the last couple of weeks. I'm cheering for the Oliers now so go Oilers go! Dwayne Roloson, the goalie for the Oilers is from a town ten minutes down the road from my house. He has been very impressive so far stopping something like 56 shots in game one.
If you like Toronto, you don't like the Sens. Not sure why really. It's kind of the same as Toronto not liking Montreal and vise versa.

Sorry, for all of you who aren't hockey fans! Although my heart has belonged to the Toronto Maple Leafs for years, I absolutely ecstatic about what the Edmonton Oilers have just done! No need to pinch me - it's real! Oilers win the series 4 - 2 and eliminate the mighty Detroit Red Wings. (If you are a Maple Leafs fan, Detroit is another one of those franchises you love to hate!) Just shows to go you that grit, determination, believing in yourself, and of course, GREAT GOALTENDING, all equal a winning combo! The Oilers were down 2-0 half way through the second period, and came back to tie, went down 3 -2, came back to tie it, and then go on to win the game! Congratulations Oilers ! NOW, COME ON CALGARY - LET'S MAKE THIS AN ALBERTA NIGHT! GO FLAMES GO / GO FLAMES GO

I echo your sentiments exactly Lori! Go Oilers Go! (And Dwayne Roloson who happens to be a local boy). A battle of Alberta would be great! Oops! sorry! I read the first post on this page and saw that I already said Dwayne was local.

YAY OILERS! Hockey fans, prepare for the Battle of Alberta. Can I hide my disappointment that it wasn't over last night though? And not to know until this morning either, game was on way too late to stay up for in the West. Are you guys following the Red Mile stuff? Police in Calgary and Edmonton are both worried about a Battle of Albera. There will be so many fans travelling to games in the other city, they are very worried about too many people in both cities. (Calgary and Edmonton are only a three hour drive apart. There is another city, Red Deer, right in the middle too, so even more people). GO HABS! Wouldn't it be great for all 4 Canadian teams that made the quarter finals to advance to the semis!!! GO FLAMES GO!!!!

The game begins at 6 Pacific time, so should be over by 9 Pacific, 10 Mountain, 12 Central. So most Canadians should be able to catch at least some of the game. If not...www.nhl.com for the results! I likely won't be on again today.

Well inuvik, I am really sorry about the Flames. It would have been really cool to have a battle of Alberta. So who are you rooting for now? As I have to say year after year being a Leaf fan, there's always next year.

So we can have an Oilers/Sens rivalry between us. This sucks big-time. A complete shut-out? What an awful game. I think I need some Karma to cheer me up. Thanks for the ride Flames!! Short but sweet!

I can't bring myself to cheer for the Sens. If the Oilers lose and Colorado is still in, I'll cheer for them. Rob Blake is from my hometown. When they won the cup a few years ago, he brought it here and it was awesome. We had a parade and I have a picture of myself standing beside and touching the cup. I could always hope for something like that again.
