A short time later, the Pomeranian looked Down, a roller-coastery feeling in his stomach, and saw his ashes, safe and sound, being spread over the reservoir. He was free, feeling like he was flying, without even a touch of vertigo.
"Welcome," his Maker said. And the Pomeranian was suddenly aware of tiny tennis balls flying around of their own accord, fire hydrants big as elephants, eighteen wheelers waiting to be chased down streets paved with doggy biscuits. "And just to put your furry mind at ease, I went ahead and installed the latest model of brain in Miss Chenowith's head. I moonlight in the Emerald City, so I can do things like that, you know. For your selfless suggestion, you're entitled to enter Guardian Angel Training School."
And that is how Hank the Guide Dog acquired an astute, disciplined, mischievous, albeit hyper, Guardian Angel. Lord knows he needs one. The Pomeranian graduated (with much higher marks than he'd ever received in Obediance School) just in time to spring Hank from a certain station wagon, keep him from being struck by stray bullets, make sure it wasn't necessary for him to hide in a dumpster for six hours, and lead him to Artie Steckle. Artie was necessary because we all know Pomeranians can't use the telephone.
In return, Hank gave the Pomeranian his harness, which the Pomeranian gave to another Guardian Angel to pass on to an underpriveleged guide dog in Africa.

Lynn Bodner-instead of the streets you should have looked into a part-time at The LaSabre because there the most you would probably have had to contend with were dirty old men like Less Knowles. The added bonus would have been the hired bouncer at The LaSabre who could have tossed Less out on his ear.
Dennis Denehy+at least you were always sure to pay your rent on time to the clerk at the flophouse. Since you were so dedicated, he didn't have to strong arm you and that was the reason he didn't remember your face and mistook someone else for you when Tom and Marty came calling.
