Bookend moments were repeated scenes or devices, the second time presented with a twist. I'm wondering if I can follow my own rules closely enough for this one to work . . . Call it Jansen's Ballistic Bookend. We only see Terry with a firearm twice. The first time -- at the bank -- he should shoot and doesn't. The second time -- on the roof -- he shouldn't shoot and does. Nah, that ain't no bookend. But it is kind of amusing.

This isn't really a "bookend moment," but I couldn't figure out where else to put my comment.
In the Pilot, Fisk pulls Jim and Karen off the serial homicide and assigns them to a bad check case in Chinatown. In "Under the Gun," Karen uses re-interviewing a guy passing bad checks in Chinatown as a cover story for their search for Jim's missing gun.

I always liked that line for exactly that reason! Does this make twice Karen has lied for Jim?
