Here is the list of five albums I would want on a desert island. It took some thinking to narrow it down, but as of now here they are:
1. Who's Next - The Who 2. (What's the Story) Morning Glory - Oasis 3. Mad About Mozart 4. Chopin and Champagne 5. Born to Run - Bruce Springsteen
I reserve the right to modify this list. Other contenders include, Buffalo Springfield - Buffalo Springfield, Greatest Hits so Far - Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, and Hot Rocks - The Rolling Stones

Mouse rocks! "Who's Next" is "absolutely" #1 on my list, too. Back later with the other four.

This will change, but here's my list as of this moment:
* A Night at the Opera/Queen *The Violent Femmes/(self-titled debut album) *Whiplash/James *The Hurting/Tears for Fears *Best of Bowie/David Bowie
Sometimes I actually come into the present, but apparently not today.

Shmeep, I vividly remember sitting in my brother's room listening to Night at the Opera, man I loved that album.
Mini, Time of the Season and Tell Her No are two of my very favorite songs. And End of the Innocence would have to be the sixth on my list. I bought it for the singles, but wound up loving Little Tin God, How Bad do you Want it?, and I Will not go Quietly at least as much. You probably know this, but Axel Rose sings back up on I will not go quietly.
Interestingly enought my five top songs are probably not on any of the albums I mentioned. If we were picking individual songs, I would have to have The Scientist by Coldplay, and The Low Spark of Highheeled Boys by Traffic oh, and Respect by Aretha Franklin.

It would be hard to pin mine down, but I have it narrowed down to Gettin' in Tune, Behind Blue Eyes, Baba O'Reilly, and My Wife. I can't wait to see the rest of your list.

Mousy! Sister! We're going to see the Zombies play at the Ohio State Fair next month. I can't wait! I met Rod Argent years and years and years ago when his band "Argent" was playing at the University of Cincinnati Fieldhouse opening for The Doobie Brothers. It was my first concert and they had a big hit with "Hold Your Head Up" at the time. I was in love with the lead singer of the band, a guy named Russ Ballard. Heck...I've been sighing over him since I hit puberty. I've always been one for "crushes"...so this Ron Eldard thing is nothing new. He's just one of many... I enjoy being a girl! xxx M. "Hold your head up high, hold your head up high!" Great song! I would love to see The Zombies! What about The Kinks? Have you ever seen The Kinks? I have seen them four times. Ray Davies is one of my many crushes. I was going to make a list of the many crushes I've had over the years, but heck, that might be a thread unto itself!

WARNING WARNING-- gross post head: When I was at college, a friend got really sick on grain and beer and started throwing up while "Hold Your Head Up" was playing on the stereo. Since I was not sober either, I started singing to him, "Hold Your Head Up... Hold Your Head Up.." To this day, I can't help but laugh when that song comes on.

I can't wait to see the rest of your list. My favorites on "Who's Next" are "Won't Get Fooled Again," "Baba O'Riley," and "Behind Blue Eyes." I just listened to it again on Sunday while driving up to Orange County -- it's one album I never tire of listening to. The rest of the list is a little more difficult. Creedence Clearwater Revival is a close second to, or tied for first with, The Who, but my favorite songs are scattered throughout their albums. If I had to choose, I'd pick "Cosmo's Factory" and "Green River." If I really were marooned on a desert island, I'd also have to have a recording of at least one work of Johann Sebastian Bach -- probably the "Goldberg Variations" or the "Musical Offering" -- and Beethoven's Ninth.

My favorite Credence has got to be Midnight Special. "Midnight Special" -- definitely! Also: "Wrote a Song for Everyone," "Lodi," "Who'll Stop the Rain," and "Fortunate Son." By the way, one of my pet peeves is the (mis)use of "Fortunate Son" in that jeans commercial -- by someone who obviously never listened to the song!

I also love John Fogerty's solo stuff.

What would I take? Hmm Simon and Garfunkel's Greatest Hits Beethoven's 9th Symphony American Pie~Don McLean Abbey Road~The Beatles The Eagle's Greatest Hits I was listening to American Pie in the care this afternoon (with my five year-old singing along thank you very much!), and I thought of one of my favorite trivia questions. Did you know that Roberta Flack wrote Killing Me Softly after going to a Don McLean concert? She wrote it about his songs.

scmeep really ought to have The Problem With Gravity on her list, assuming she's the friend she claims to be.
On the other hand, I'm not sure I'd put that album on my list, so I guess I forgive her.
You guys are going to think I'm really weird: 1. Quest- Gypsy Caravan 2. Asian travels- various Artists 3. Tribal Metamorphosis- Pentaphobe 4. Violent Femmes- Violent Femmes 5. Endless Summer- Beach Boys
