Great topic, I gotta chime in. My current favorite list and all time favorite list are different. I think I'll go with my all time favorites: 1. St. Elsewhere - This is a fabulous show from top to bottom, Denzel Washington, Alfre Woodard, Ed Begley Jr., Mark Harmon, Ed Flanders, Howie Mandel, too many amazing performers to mention them all. Well written, unbelievably written, the best show ever. Best episodes ever, the story arc where Fiscus gets shot. Believe it or not I laughed out loud at one point. Man I miss that show. 2. Blind Justice 3. Curb your Enthusiasm 4. Cheers I can't think of a fifth right now. Current contenders include Chicago Hope, Monk, The Dead Zone, House, House Hunters, and Sell this House

Why do you keep doing this to me? ;D Were you even born when Happy Days was on the air? I vividly remember sitting in the family room of my house with my entire family (five brothers and sisters) watching the episode where Fonzie jumped over the barrels. We were all soooo upset that we were going to have to wait an entire week to find out what happened! Man that brings back memories!

I have the first season on DVD and still watch it. I love Michael Weatherly as that dreamy Logan! He is the reason I watch NCIS. It was also great to see John Savage again after such a long break. I was bummed when they got rid of him, even if his character was evil! My boys and I say "blah blah woof woof" all the time when we are annoyed! I never see the guy who played Josh (wasn't that his name), I wonder what happened to him. I thought of two other all time favorite shows, but you all have to promise not to laugh! Kung Fu! I love Kung Fu, another one I have on DVD and watch. I even have The Book of Cain. Highlander the Series. What can I say, Adrian Paul and wonderful sword play! It also had great plot lines, and Roger Daltrey guested in more than one episode (see favorite music thread). I also LOVED the characters Darius and Methos. Darius, Duncan's mentor and an ancient immortal. Methos, the oldest immortal. **sigh**

1. Blind Justice (of course)
2. ER (even though the last two years haven't been their best, and I'm still pissed that they dropped the chopper on Romano)
3. Law & Order (the Lennie Briscoe years)
4. Lovejoy (Ian Shane at his best, and wickedly funny writing)
5. Open to discussion!

I remember Emergency. Sunday nights at seven on ABC if I remember correctly. I can still recite "start an IV of lactated ringers and transport immediately." Also, one of the stars of Tour of Duty played Dr. Peter White on St. Elsewhere. You mentioning Tour of Duty reminded me of another great show, China Beach. That was a great show all the way around. I loved Boonie.

So many good shows but China Beach has to go down as one of the all-time best, gritty and realistic. And I'm with you, I loved Boonie too! But, I think Blind Justice still has to top my list - there has never been anything else I have felt this passionate about in my, never mind how many, years of TV watching. So this would be my list: 1. Blind Justice 2. China Beach 3. ER 4. The Rookies (loved Michael Ontkean, a fellow Canadian I might add!) 5. Mod Squad (I know that was years ago, okay, decades, but I was just a child. My first really big crush on Michael Cole's character, Pete Cochran) Oh, and if I could have another category, under Sci-Fi, Stargate SG-1 - fab show with an even more fab character in Jack O'Neil - just love RDA - a very long long affair. And, of course, because I hail from North of the Border (and RDA loves the game too and Ron played one in Mystery, Alaska) any old hockey game but especially HOCKEY NIGHT IN CANADA LongLashes

Does it have to be just 5?
1. Monty Python 2. Monkees 3. Blind Justice 4. EZ Streets (all 9 episodes, shafted worse than BJ) 5. Due South 6. The Prisoner 7. Secret Agent 8. Star Trek 9. Seinfeld 10. ER 11. Bakersfield, PD 12. Men Behaving Badly 13. Entourage 14. Larry Sanders Show 15. Sex and the City 16. Sopranos 17. Partridge Family 18. Ed Sullivan Show 19. Hullaballoo 20. Curb Your Enthusiasm
(I better stop now.... obviously in no particular order, just stream of consciousness. Of course, it probably says something disturbing about me when I follow the Sopranos with the Partridge Family.)

OK, here goes: 1. Blind Justice 2. St. Elsewhere 3. The Defenders 4. ER 5. MASH and China Beach (tie) I seem to be echoing longlashes today, but "Blind Justice" tops my list, because it touched and moved me in a way that no other TV show has. For those too young to remember it, "The Defenders" was a groundbreaking series in the early 1960s.
