I took this picture Monday morning at the Hudson River and 42nd Street. These lovely ladies appeared to be praying for the bus to come soon!

Here's another picture. This was an elevator in NY subway during the storm we had to wait out. It's hard to see the rain but if you look at the floor you'll see it's pouring rain in the elevator! Needless to say, we did not get in. This one is a picture of a saloon outside Lindy's hotel. It was supposed to say Hurley's but notice what it says. Sorry. I don't know why they are so big. If someone can tell me how to fix it, I will.

I was just looking at some of the pictures taken last weekend in New York, and thought I would share this one with you. Anita, I think you should post the picture of the boot you took in St. Paul's Chapel. It was very poignant. At any rate, this is a picture taken by me in the Dunbar's old neighborhood of DUMBO.

Here is the picture Kathy was talking about. It was taken at St. Paul's Cathedral. Why are they coming out so big??

Here is the picture Kathy was talking about. It was taken at St. Paul's Cathedral. Why are they coming out so big?? You can take them down to smaller sizes in photobucket, but refresh the image here as you do that since you don't want to make them too small. 75% or so should work OK, I think.

Thanks. I'll try that tomorrow when I feel better. Been a long day. I still don't understand why they're coming out so big when Kathy is getting hers out of the same photobucket and they are normal size. I posted a few different pictures last night just to see and they all came out big.

I resized this one....hope it is better. This is another picture from St. Paul"s church near to ground Zero. This is another picture at St. Paul's near ground Zero. It is a collection of some of the thousands of origami peace cranes sent from all over the world. Seeing them really touched me.

This is part of ground Zero right now. The large structure on the left is going to be a museum. I resized this one and it is still too large. Something is a foot.

I have sometimes had trouble with photos re-sized in Photobucket still showing up in the larger size. As suggested above, refreshing the image here sometimes does the trick. Refreshing the image in Photobucket so that the smaller size shows up there may also do it. I have also gotten the smaller size to show up by modifying my post by deleting the original image link and substituting the link to the re-sized photo.

I posted a few different pictures last night just to see and they all came out big. Don't mean to contradict, but I am using the Board's photobucket account. Uploading from my computer into that and then posting. I bet if I post one from the photobucket Anita and Lindy are using, it will be huge as well.... modified to add...I posted one here from the photobucket Anita and Lindy are using and it was big, too. I wonder what is causing that??? Maybe one of the account settings???

St. Paul's Chapel can be seen in this picture behind that clump of trees at the center of the photo across the WTC site. That is where the memorials that Anita and Lindy has posted reside. It is a miracle that it survived without even one broken pane of glass on 911 and became a refuge for the rescue workers.

I just got back from six days at Old Orchard Beach, Maine, with my son and his family; capped of with a visit yesterday with Mary. We had a great time starting with breakfast. Then we toured the Breakers, which was the Vanderbilt's summer "cottage". (Unfortunately after six days on the beach, my camera was a little sandy and the lense had a few smudges of sun block on it. Look in the trees on the right side of the picture!!) We took a short walk on the Cliff Walk as the heat and humidity quickly got the best of us! After that Mary took me on a little tour along Bellevue Avenue and then Ocean Drive in Newport. It is amazing the wealth of that Golden Age in Newport! What is also amazing is the beautiful ruggedness of the coastline in the Newport area. This is Brenton Point where we stopped for a few moments. We had lunch at Belle's which is in the Newport shipyard just below the Newport Bridge. We topped the day off with a little shoe shopping, and then had to go our separate ways. As always, we had a great time reminiscing about other days spent together and with friends from this Board! Wish you all could have joined us!!

Wish you all could have joined us!! And fun as usual.....even though it was so hot! I am actually looking forward to some nice cool Fall weather. How about some pics of Old Orchard Beach, Maine. You always seem to come up with some unique shots.

How about some pics of Old Orchard Beach, Maine. You always seem to come up with some unique shots. If you insist....here are two. The girls up at dawn to see the sunrise. We stayed in a condo on the beach, so they are still in their PJ's. My son and family making the one mile walk to the pier. This beach is the cleanest beach I have ever seen! They literally vacuum up the seaweed each morning!!
