This is a picture of a baby moose that is 12 hours old. Mama decided to have her baby in front of someone's house.

Here's another interesting email. Bill owns a company that manufactures and installs car wash systems. Bill's company installed a car wash system in Frederick, MD The problem started when the new owner complained to Bill that he was losing significant amounts of money from his coin machines each week. He went as far as to accuse Bill's employees of having a key to the boxes and ripping him off. Bill just couldn't believe that his people would do that, so they setup a camera to catch the thief in action. Well, they did catch him on film! That's a bird sitting on the change slot of the machine. The bird had to go down into the machine, and back up inside to get to the money! That's three quarters he has in his beak! Another amazing thing is that it was not just one bird -- there were several working together. Once they identified the thieves, they found over$4000 in quarters on the roof of the car wash and more under a nearby tree. And you thought you heard of everything by now!!! And to think the phrase "bird brain" is associated with being dumb. Not these birds

Were the starlings nesting in the coin machines? That would explain why they wanted to move the money out. Mail boxes in the Western Isles (Scotland) have flaps over the slots that you have to lift up to post letters. When I first say them, I thought that they must be to keep the rain out... or something. Then a local told me that the flaps had to be put on the letter boxes to stop the starlings nesting in them. Oh, and I hadn't noticed BJO's moose picture before. That's just lovely. Awww. Krissie

It looks neat but scary. You certainly wouldn't get me to do that! Agreed - no way at all. Wonder if Ashatan is gonna be upset at the creative spelling of her home town - it should be Melbourne! ;D

While I am at it, sorry Matilda in including you. I was being less smart than a 5th grader when it comes to cities in Australia....now I need to go study some geographly and spelling!!!! ;D

Culturally, there is huge rivalry between Sydney and Melbourne, especially about art and which city is the art capital of Oz (you know what I'd say). M

M Well you would have to Tilda Dear, seeing as all the best art work comes from Melbourne ( ;)snigger snigger snigger) (no worries about the spelling Lindy I didn't even notice!- haven't you noticed my profound lack of respect for the english language???) Yes, I'm the one in the pink dress in the forefront and my hubby Chris is the one kissing my hand. ;D

Little mishaps amongst ducks... Be sure all the little ducklings were saved by the fire department (!!!) and were returned to their mum.
