You made us wait a month for this chapter? Bad GB indeed!
I like the way that this chapter focuses on Jim's awareness of the people around him and how his perceptions are affected by what else is going on - a quiet hospital room vs. a busy city street. As always, I pick up something else each time I read it.

Wow GB, Jim returning to his old squad. Something we would have loved to see and you made it happen. I think you've been hanging out around cops cause you have the dialogue right on. Good to see Jimmy is more comfortable at the eighth, and loved his defense of Karen. Excellent as usual.

Good to see Jimmy is more comfortable at the eighth, and loved his defense of Karen. Excellent as usual. Can't add much more to that other than it was nice to see how they all relaxed a bit fairly quickly and yet you could just sense a bit of tension or uneasiness at the same time--just once in a while. Very realistic I thought.

Thanks for the next chapter GB! Loved some of the insights like, how Jim felt so comfortable wallking in there, being able to picture it, knowing they'd not change things. Conveyed a poignant loss as well as familiarity.
Always ready for more...
