Okay, okay, okay! Sheesh. One of our loveliest members said Miss Mary reminded her of Helene Hanff. Karma to whoever remembers Helene Hanff!

Sure, I've heard of her. Two that I recall she wrote:
84 Charing Cross Road (actually became a film starring Anne Bancroft and Anthony Hopkins and Letter from New York.

What a treat! You are away most of the day with friends and come home to a new chapter. You hit it pretty good, Maggie. Jim would hate being labeled and used, but until he accepts himself for who he is, no one else will either--as you so nicely pointed out. No one wants to hang around someone who has a big chip on their shoulder or something to prove all...day...long everyday. And like it or not, this is one of those times when Jim can go at things from a different angle. Sooo...get the anger and frustration out now and then go get'em! And soon, ok?

Happy New Year, one and all!Okay. Silly me. I really should wait at least 24 hours after it's been written before I post a new chapter. I thought I liked Chapter Four, but in the cold light of morning -- and after some gently persuasive and gracious help from one of our esteemed admins -- I realized that . . . well . . . it needed a little tweaking. Some more fluid segues between dialogue passages, adjusting a word here and a word there to get the rhythms right . . . Not that it makes a huge difference in the general scheme of things, but I like it better now. Hope you will too!

I really like the situations that you are putting Jim in, the things that you are giving him a chance to deal with. Great job!

Great chapter, Maggie! You'd have to know that it would happen to Jim sooner or later. And his middle name! LOL a million times! I hope he's not too shaken up to continue any time soon. No pressure though, Jimmy. Take all the time you need.

Thanks, anna and bjo! That was my New year's present to you all. It's back to work tomorrow, which means probaly another week or so before the next chapter. BTW, there seems to be a rumor running around that posting your fanfic on the big ff.net site can lead to your computer being infected by a virus. As far as I know our own esteemed Shmeep, Kenina, and mlm88 (and newbie momoonwez, right?) have posted on that site without any problems. I tried, once, but as you all know, maggie is a techno-feeb. So I bagged it, and since I write for my friends at Beyond Justice anyway, it's not what I'd call a problem. ;D

Another appearance of the good Dr. Galloway! ;D You write him so well, mags. I am really enjoying his and your insights into how Jim sees himself now, and the idea of a case that forces Jim to confront this. Don't you just hate it when work gets in the way of writing Blind Justice fic? BTW, there seems to be a rumor running around that posting your fanfic on the big ff.net site can lead to your computer being infected by a virus. As far as I know our own esteemed Shmeep, Kenina, and mlm88 (and newbie momoonwez, right?) have posted on that site without any problems. I have posted all of my stories there with no problems. However, I haven't posted anything there since November, so if there is a recent problem, I wouldn't know about it. Still, most rumors are just that -- rumors. I tried, once, but as you all know, maggie is a techno-feeb. So I bagged it, and since I write for my friends at Beyond Justice anyway, it's not what I'd call a problem. ;D The process of posting a story there is definitely not "user-friendly."

As for FFN - never had any virus issues with it. The last time I posted there was mid-December. Mind you, the posting method becomes more and more confusing as time goes on and the fact that it instantly corrupts anything that looks even vaguely like a website link is incredibly annoying.

I loved to see the return of Galloway because he is one person who can definitely put Jim in his place. And his little comment that this time it was his dime and not the departments! Wonder if Jim has a little issue with money(thinking out loud about how he wanted to know if Christie had already paid for the dance classes and all and now this??)
Then having the presence of mind to preserve possible evidence after being attacked and having to get back to the precinct, wow!
