The Last of the Dogmen with Tom Berenger and Barbara Hershey. Berenger plays a bounty hunter who tracks 3 escapees into the Oxbow region of the Rockies where he finds them all killed. Seems there have been several killings and disappearences over the years. Only thing is, they were killed by bows and arrows. Hershey is an archeologist who specializes in Native Americans. They find a lost enclave of Indians who have hidden from the white population for years and retained their native ways. Beautiful scenary and a great story of a man who is lost and yet is able to find himself in the most unlikey of places and of a woman who finds what she has been searching for her entire life.

For RE movies, I loved Delivered and Sex and the Other Man.
The Power of One. School Ties.
So I watched Howard the Duck the other night, and I still really like it! Maybe even more than when I was little. Such a great B movie. And Tim Robbins? Hilarious, didn't even know it was him. From HtD to Shawshank Redemption, great actor.
A Fish Called Wanda. Kevin Kline, another great actor.

I was channel surfing last night, stumbled into Mona Lisa Smile and stayed for the whole movie. Julia Roberts gives a strong performance as the progressive Wellesley arts history teacher, trying to inspire her students to see beyond what society tells them they must be and reach for everything they can be. The ensemble cast is terrific, Kirsten Dunst, Julia Stiles, Maggie Gyllenhaal, etc., and because a movie like this wouldn't be complete without it, eye candy, Dominic West. Although contrived in a few instances, with plenty of sub-story lines that could make it seem too busy, I found it to be a very enjoyable, feel-good flick.

The Replacements.
And last night I watched Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, with Johnny Depp, and I was highly disturbed, but I liked it. The cannibalism line caught me off-guard. This man belongs in a mental institution! More frightening than any cheesy gory horror flick out there.

ABSOLUTELY agreed! The Replacements is such an enjoyable, feel good kind of movie - Keanu Reeves is his usual wooden self but the supporting cast is so terrific and there are so many really good moments to just sit back and enjoy!! Kind of like the Mystery, Alaska of football movies! Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive" takes on a whole new meaning after seeing this one!

One that was heartedly panned by reviewers but which I liked was Alexander with Colin Farrell. Yeah, it was kind of over the top and long but it reminded me of those epic movies Hollywood used to do so well. I liked it better than Troy, I found myself going no, no that's not what happened. Like I was there But I have read the Illiad a few times so it did bug me! Sports themed movies--two fine ones are Remember the Titans with Denzel Washington and of course Hoosiers which follows a small town high school team which wins the state championship and is based on a true story!

There is a movie on Lifetime called: "More Than Meets the Eye: The Joan Brock Story." Not Descriptive for the blind.
It's based on a true story of a teacher for the blind who suddenly loses her sight to Mac Degen.
Maybe a show worth seeing.
Later, Carl
