Some of you may remember a triple dog dare that was posted a couple of months ago. A very good friend of mine dared me to write a BJ story of no less than 1000 words. This story is the result of that dare. It was a lot of fun but also a lot of work. I have always appreciated the writers on this board because of their talent and interesting storylines. Now I appreciate them for something different--the time and dedication it takes to write a story. You really have no idea until you try it yourself.
Thanks to my friend down under. I couldn't have done it without all your help and encouragement.
Jim's experience in this opening section is really mine. Barb, you're going to think I'm crazy but I went to a restuarant and ordered Jim's dinner and sat in a corner and ate blind. With the exception of one incident, everything that happens to Jim happed to me.It's not easy. That experience helped me realize what it must be like in the beginning.
Hope you enjoy reading it as much as I did writing it.

Hey, bjo, you know we're all dying to read it . . . but so far all I can find is this discussion thread and not the fic itself. Have you posted it yet?

Thank you! Not only was that a great read, but it ended with those magic letters 'TBC'. You've made me one very happy Krissie this evening. Karma.

A very good job Anita, and it is great to have another fanfic writer on the board. That is tough work and I admire you all. Looking forward to reading more.

Electric atmosphere! I especially like it when Christie is trying so hard not to fight and she just shouts at Jim! You have caught her blend of caring and hurting so well.
And Jim seems very real too. Hurt and scared and showing it in anger and by shutting her out.
I look forward to the contuance - don't take too long!!!!

Welcome to the ranks of fanfic writers! I like the way you've portrayed Jim's frustration and his efforts to keep from letting his anger boil over, as well as Christie's emotions and her reaction. It all seems true to what we know of these characters. Good job!

Welcome to the club -- those who have been cajoled/dared/persuaded into writing their first fic! (In my case, it was Kenina and Shmeep who did the deed. ) It is great fun, isn't it, to get inside the characters heads in such a direct and purposeful way? Well done, bjo!

Jim's nervousness and frustration, Christie trying to be sympathetic and understanding and helpful, then both losing their cool and giving each other what for! You are right-on not only in your descriptions but the characters psyches. That is absolutely no surprise to me! And I'm glad there is more to look forward too.

Karma, karma, karma!!! I know this is serious for Jim and Christie but I had a smile on my face when I read this chapter. I smiled because it's so Christie to react like that, thinking of how it affects HER and not really get what's it's like for Jim. Of course. Nothing can prepare you for something like that happening and while Jim is the one who is blinded it certainly has an effect on Christie as well, they just don't realize it, either one of them. Great writing Take care and keep smiling - Chris
