Here's the discussion for ashatan's new fic, folks. It's not hard to do, so please, whenever anyone starts a new fic from now on, please start a new thread under Fanfic Discussions for your feedback. Mags MODIFIED TO ADD: Since I live in a 100-year old house with antique wiring and on am dial-up, I have to say that moving all this stuff into a new thread is a royal pain. So please, fic writers, the next time handle this yourselves. In other words, if you can start a new fic thread, it follows as the night that day that you are capable of starting a new discussion thread.There. I said it.

Hi Admins, Could you help me pop these feedback posts into the discussion forum? (and this post also?) Matilda, RDU, Barb in your PM - Thanks girls for the feedback. It is much easier to keep writing when there is positive feedback. Chapter Two on its way.

Re: Out of Sight Out of Mind « Reply #2 on Yesterday at 10:12pm » Posted by rducasey: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You have quite a way with words N. I am exhausted reading it, and hope his ordeal ends soon. I'm especially worried for Hank, and anxious to know how they ended up there.
Great imagery. A passage I particularly liked:
The man smiled to himself at memories that surfaced: dancing, as a child, in a red Indian costume praying to the Rain God, bringing up the dust with his feet, his friends and he so earnest in their game. He blinked, remembering how disappointed they had been that the rain hadn’t come. He couldn’t have been more than four or five, crying to his Mom. Why? Why didn’t the Rain God hear them? He even remembered her answer. Delay is not denial, sweetie, sometimes you get what you ask for only when you truly need it.
ashatan Watchdog ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Glad you like the title, working title was "The Dump" not very ..um.. poetic.(giggle) ________________________________________

Ash, so far so good! You've definitely got me hooked. Now you just need to reel me in. (Not that that will be difficult! Please don't leave Jimmy wondering lost around the dump for too much longer, though. I'm getting worried for him! Lovely to get a cameo of Cracker Jack in here. He's one of my favourites of your characters, and I'd really like to see more of him. Oh, and your title seems to work perfectly for this one... at least so far. Krissie

Okay, gang, for those who don't know how....you go into Fan Fiction Discussion and in the upper right hand corner is a "new thread" icon. Click it, and voila! Yes? Yes!

I seem to remember someone once said that there were only so many stories you could write about a blind detective Natascha you (and the other fanfics-writers too) are proving him wrong over and over again. This is once again the beginning of a terrific story, I'm sure. Poor Jim Dunbar, once he lost his sight and dealt with it, now he has amnesia and has forgotten that he is in fact blind which means (I guess??) that he will have to go through it one more time Good thing Hank is around, but please, get them out of there soon, please??? Take care and keep smiling - Chris

So many questions just waiting to be answered. Who did this to Jim and why? How did they get Jim and Hank? Is this related to a case---undoubtedly!!!! Is anyone even looking for Jim yet? Inquiring minds are absolutely itching to know

I remember asking you when I beta-ed this, what is MPU - with all my working knowledge with the NYPD, I do not recognize this. Thanks.

So glad to see the squad is "on the case". Thanks for not keeping us waiting too long. Now is that expensive burberry going to wash up at Terry's bench perhaps? Great job.

I am really enjoying the story...I liked how Jim thought Hank might be a girl. The rats biting him give a thriller effect to the story...can't wait for more....

I love it (as usual with your work Ashatan). I kept logging on during a particularly busy day at work (and I am bit of career-obsessed workaholic) to see if there was more - like if it was a book you'd sit up and read all night til you finished it!
Particularly liked the so-believable union blue, timed and strategised perfectly for the most disruption (this is the ex-union official in me talking, obviously). Very Melbourne of you Ashatan!
But it's really scaring the something out of me. For goodness' sake get him out of there!
Well done and thanks, as usual.
Cheers
Matilda
