I don't mind it either. Kind of reminds me of Bakersfield. At least he doesn't have dark hair. ...or dressed in women's clothing!

Totally on that! I agree!!! But when I first saw him with make-up (they should have picked a better shade than iced mauve!), I thought...LIZA! And laughed myself silly! Hey, I'm an 80's child - I'm USED to boys in make-up!!!!! LOL!!!!

AARGH -- the Ron drought has gotten worse. I just got the following alert about Freedomland, which was scheduled to open in December in NY & LA, & everyshere else in January: "Sony Pictures' Oscar promotion choices just keep getting easier. Less than two weeks after the studio pushed "All the King's Men" back to an undetermined 2006 release date, Revolution's "Freedomland" has been lifted from a one-week Oscar qualifying run in December. Rather than opening in limited release for Academy eligibility and going wide on Jan. 13, the Richard Price adaptation will now be held back to Feb. 17 to take advantage of Presidents Day weekend, according to media reports." WAAAH!

That is a definite WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! I would love to believe that the media reports aren't true but I think by now, we've all learned better! So, I just did a Google Search and came up with the same details on a couple of movie sites - www.comingsoon.net, www.ropeofsilicon.com - looks like it is ABSOLUTELY TRUE! LongLashes

Just got some more sneak preview info. Apparently our favorite blond will be the reporter (??):
"Freedomland" - Single mother Julianne Moore blames an African-American man of kidnapping and killing her son. Detective Samuel L. Jackson and newspaper reporter Ron Eldard investigate the case, discovering it is far more convoluted than they'd first thought. Also starring Soprano Edie Falco.

I think that whoever wrote this article was wrong. This is the only thing I have seen about Freedomland that says Ron is the reporter. Plus if you watch the trailer, the glimpses we see of him fit in more with the brother/policeman than a reporter. It would be nice if he were the reporter as that's a bigger role in the book. But in the book, the reporter is a woman.

I was watching the Spike TV Video Game Awards this evening (where Def Leppard, my other obsession, put on an awesome performance....but I digress). The show was hosted by Samuel L. Jackson and there was a preview for "Freedomland" during one of the commercial breaks. Sadly, Ron's face wasn't anywhere in the preview. The only time you heard him was at the very beginning where he asks, "What happened?" I had to rewind to make sure, but it was definitely his voice and you could see the reddish hair, but they only showed the back of his head as they focused on SLJ. They might show another preview since the VGAs aren't over yet, but I turned it off after Leppard finished.

Samuel L. Jackson is scheduled to be on the Oprah show on Monday. It's a little early to be promoting "Freedomland" for a Feb 20 release, but what else would he be promoting? Maybe they'll show a clip...

Of course I missed Ophra because of work Can anyone fill me in on what he said, did he mention RE, any pics etc? I did happen to catch my first promo for the movie yesterday and it did have a nice shot of RE, didn't last long enough but beggars can't be chooser I guess.

Samuel L. Jackson did not mention Ron. He mentioned what a joy Julianne Moore is, and that his wife has a co-starring role in the movie. The showed a short clip that if you were looking REALLY hard, you got a glimpse of Ron. But they showed a Freedomland commercial during the show that was a bit different (and shorter) than the one they started showing in the fall.
So unless you are a big Sam Jackson fan, you didn't miss much. (Neil Diamond was also on the show and gave a terrific mini-concert.)
