Every good organization needs a treasurer! Thank you, but the positions of Secretary/Treasurer were filled from the inception of this project.

As requested, this is the best I can do with the photos right now. I took a picture of the playbill and my picture with my cell phone which is why the colors may be a little off. A better one will follow shortly. I'm in the leopard print coat and the other person in the photo is Minianne. The second photo is the playbill Ron signed personally to me. The "hood" is Queens slang for neighborhood. ;D

By the way, Becky's staying here with me in Queens and she loves it. Surely it must be because of my living here. absoLUTEly, that's it!

A MAJOR SPOILER FOR DOUBT APPEARS IN THIS POST ************************************ When she came over for dinner a couple nights ago, shmeep asked me if I would post some of my impressions of Ron from last Saturday night. First, here are some pics (it was dark and freezing rain, so they're not terrific -- but I am grateful to have them, thanks to sport57's husband's willingness to take them): After the show, we waited by the theater's stage door. Ron was the last one out (by quite a long time), so we stood not-so-patiently in the freezing rain and wind. At least I was too uncomfortable to be nervous. The thing that struck me most about him was that he looks younger in person than he did on Blind Justice. He is also more attractive. I never thought he was classically handsome, but I was wrong. I've met celebrities before who looked pretty much like they do on camera, but he was different, IMHO. When he looked at me, it felt like he was looking *into* me, though I know that sounds completely cheesy. His eyes and smile are pretty incredible. His teeth are also nicer, straighter somehow than they look on film. And he's smaller than I thought he would be, compared with how beefy he looked on B/J. I'd say he's maybe 5'11". I said a total of seven words to the guy -- didn't even introduce myself -- so that part wasn't earth-shattering. He asked us where we were from, and seemed interested in the answers, taking care to make eye contact with each of us. He also thanked us several times for making the trip and seeing the show. As he was signing our playbills, I asked him if his character in Doubt was guilty. He just laughed and said something like, "That's for you to decide." I really wanted to know what he thought! That's about it. He seemed soft-spoken, friendly, and open. I'm glad I got to see him in person, but he seems like the kind of person with whom it would be much more satisfying to meet in a bar and strike up a normal conversation, rather than to meet in that kind of environment, where he knows you're a fan. Hard to explain. And as exciting as seeing Ron was, in all honesty, to me the best part of last weekend was spending time in person with these wonderful women I've gotten to know because of Ron. We totally bonded and had a great time eating (too much) wonderful food, being geeks snapping pics at B/J filming sites, getting teary at the WTC memorial, cursing the fog so we couldn't go up the Empire State Building, grabbing each other's hands in excitement just before the show started, and stuff like that. Stuff that I'll ALWAYS remember and treasure. That's why, if you have even the slightest ability to make it to NYC and see the show with friends you've made in this fandom, I urge urge urge you to do it! It is truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. So those are my two cents, for what they're worth.

Karma for you, kenina! Sorry. That's how I express gratitude around here. A lot of people over here have really been wanting to know a few good old-fashioned details and I'm very grateful to you for supplying them. I can almost feel the freezing rain--and the moment of eye-contact--after reading your account. I know that was a big night for you, but I also know what you mean about the difference between meeting a star in a more normal context and striking up a natural conversation and meeting one while blatantly labeling oneself a "fan." Still, any way a person gets to meet Ron Eldard is okay with me!

Kenina, thank you so much for that heartfelt and straightforward account of what was clearly a memorable experience! And how cool are you to ask Ron Eldard a question that elicited not only a response, but a laugh? The pictures are wonderful. Smart guy -- wears a hat in the rain (and at the correct angle -- most men just plonk 'em on their heads). And, if I may make a shallow observation, oh . . . my . . . God, those eyelashes.

Karma for you kenina for a classy description of a wonderful experience. you managed to convey the meeting in a way that made me feel very pleased for you and not the least bit envious. Thank you!
Now I am counting the minutes!

Great photos!!! And I really love the unintended motion and rain effects. Makes them more alive, somehow. And the hardware on the guy next to Ron made me laugh (that's a nose ring, right? Not a funky rain effect?).

That was a great description - and great pictures. Thank you. I have been wondering. How is his voice holding up on stage?

Thanks so much, Kenina for posting these and describing your fantastic experience. I can't believe that Ron is better looking in person than he was on Blind Justice - doesn't seem possible, but I am sure that you are right. I also liked what you said about your experience with the wonderful people you have met because of the fandom. I am so looking forward to the trip I am making on March 11 to see the play with other members of this board - both for the play itself and the totally great experience I know that it will be to be there with my new found friends. We are all counting the days (well Anita is keeping the official count down clock). 7 weeks from tomorrow!

Why are you sorry for giving me karma, shmeep? Thank you, though I hardly did anything. I would've posted sooner if I had given it very much thought--I think you mostly gave me karma for realizing I was being a bit self-centered! Heh. And yeah, I'd prefer to be the cool person who runs into a celebrity and doesn't bombard them with praise or questions...but with my luck and where I live, I'll never just run into someone I am actually interested in. So I'll just have to settle for being as cool as possible in an obviously fannish situation.
