One problem I note is that some are applying the +1 rule, not just to Jim Dunbar, but to other characters as well. The numbers seem to be totally skewed! So...
I just did a manual recap - and I am going to go do it again - from the very first posting, using the +2/-2 for every character other than Jim and +1/-2 for Jim Dunbar only and this is what I came up with:
Detective Tom Selway - 21 Detective Jim Dunbar - 17 Lieutenant Gary Fisk - 13 Dr. Alan Galloway - 11 Christie Dunbar - 7 Detective Karen Bettancourt - 3 Detective Marty Russo - 3
Okay, second time 'round and thankfully I came up with the same numbers!

I was in the middle of doing the same thing when you posted so I went back and used the same number system as you did and I got the same numbers. Triple checked and all is well.
(When I first started, I was going by the +'s and -'s of each person's post.)

- Detective Tom Selway: what is it with you and gum? Do you really think everyone likes gum or likes to hear or see you chew your gum? I'm surprised with Jim's good ears you didn't push him to the edge with all that gum smacking! + Detective Jim Dunbar for not being afraid to be sappy. You admitted - without knowing if anyone else was there to overhear you - that you knew the words to the ultimate sappy (albeit a favorite) America song, I Need You...seriously, .like the flower needs the rain" + Christie Dunbar for once again leading into what could have been one of those moments - dim lights, candles, chilled wine, smooth jazz, bubbles, lots of bubbles, and our beloved Detective - oh, so visual! (As if this visual isn't enough!) Detective Tom Selway - 19 Detective Jim Dunbar - 18 Lieutenant Gary Fisk - 13 Dr. Alan Galloway - 11 Christie Dunbar - 9 Detective Karen Bettancourt - 3 Detective Marty Russo - 3

- Detective Tom Selway for not really being "a well-rounded brother" from Flatbush. I actually found you kind of tall and lanky - Glen Semple was well, rounded! + Detective Karen Bettancourt cause you aren't afraid to speak your mind when the situation warrants it, you know what I mean Marty, like when she said with such great conviction, "Marty, you're really starting to piss me off!" - Detective Jim Dunbar for not mentioning to Christie when she was helping you buy clothes that the pants felt a little baggy on the butt. Perhaps that's why you insisted on wearing that Burberry all day long.... Detective Tom Selway - 17 Detective Jim Dunbar - 16 Lieutenant Gary Fisk - 13 Dr. Alan Galloway - 11 Christie Dunbar - 9 Detective Karen Bettancourt - 5 Detective Marty Russo - 3

Perhaps that's why you insisted on wearing that Burberry all day long.... Hmmm. As a former fashion columnist, please let me point out that that is exactly the way those pants should fit, with ease and a little drape, plus natural fibers loosen a bit with wearing. They look to me like a linen-and-silk, or linen-and-featherweight wool blend. Very cool.

Hey, I'm digging at straws for reasons to smite our dear Detective Dunbar - things that haven't already been covered - and dress or not, those pants drape nicely along the line of his leg but they appear entirely too loose everywhere else. Hmmmmm...loose fitting dress pants or jeans that seem to fit in all the right places.....I think my vote has to stay with the denim!

Hey, LL, if you have to work that hard to diss Dunbar . . . I say give in and praise him! Detective Jim Dunbar + (For being the best dressed tec in the squad.) Detective Tom Selway - - (For being the worst dressed tec in the squad. Really, those purple shirts?) Detective Karen Bettancourt + + (For keeping up appearances -- even though you could have strolled in wearing a smart apron of banana leaves for all your partner knew. ) Detective Jim Dunbar - 17 Detective Tom Selway - 15 Lieutenant Gary Fisk - 13 Dr. Alan Galloway - 11 Christie Dunbar - 9 Detective Karen Bettancourt - 7 Detective Marty Russo - 3

Actually that didn't take any work whatsoever - I just like 'em tighter thats all. But exhalting him - that should be simple to do!! + Detective Jim Dunbar because nobody does it better. We've seen angst played out so many times before but I don't think we have ever seen it done like you seem to do it! + Christie Dunbar for keeping everything in its place and keeping a place for everything so your husband can move freely about in his own home. - Dr. Alan Galloway for not making arrangements to meet Jim somewhere closer to the precinct so he didn't have to make that awful trek to LeFrak City...been there, done that and it's not pretty! Detective Jim Dunbar - 18 Detective Tom Selway - 15 Lieutenant Gary Fisk - 13 Christie Dunbar - 11 Dr. Alan Galloway - 9 Detective Karen Bettancourt - 7 Detective Marty Russo - 3

LL-thanks for all the work getting things straightened out! I had to run and I'm sorry for leaving you all in the lurch. That said-- Christie Dunbar++for giving Jim space at smarmy Clay's and not hovering like a mother hen. He had to find out for himself if he was really ready or not. Detective Karen Bettencourt++for her intuitive knowledge of when to fill Jim in on certain visual clues such as Paula's nod in the Pilot. Lt.Gary Fisk--for your oh so sensitive remark of 'if you remember' coming right on the heels of Marty's mention about the bank. You two are way overdue for some sensitivity training. Detective Jim Dunbar - 18 Detective Tom Selway - 15 Christie Dunbar-13 Lieutenant Gary Fisk - 11 Dr. Alan Galloway - 9 Detective Karen Bettancourt - 9 Detective Marty Russo - 3
Detective Tom Selway--for parking the cab with its rear towards the diner. Not only was it harder to see all the action but when it came time to follow... Dectective Jim Dunbar--for assuming that Christie would automatically forgive your little outburst after Clay's party. Dr. Alan Galloway--for not seeing you at Madame One-two-three's dance class. A little exercise is good for the soul.
Detective Jim Dunbar - 16 Detective Tom Selway - 13 Christie Dunbar-13 Lieutenant Gary Fisk - 11 Detective Karen Bettancourt - 9 Dr. Alan Galloway-7 Detective Marty Russo - 3

Sometimes we don't have to reach for the new, since -- Heaven knows, Mr. Allison -- we all respond, repeatedly, to the tried and true. So, although I've no doubt said it before I don't mind saying it again. Detective Jim Dunbar + (For braving the subway that first day instead of cadging a ride from the Missus.) Lieutenant Gary Fisk + + (For being blunt. All things considered, you did the new guy a favor.) Detective Karen Bettancourt + + (For her deliciously disgusted response to the ditzy Miss Chenowith. The first tiny indication we had that maybe, just maybe, she'd come down on the side of the new guy.) Detective Jim Dunbar - 17 Detective Tom Selway - 13 Christie Dunbar - 13 Lieutenant Gary Fisk - 13 Detective Karen Bettancourt - 11 Dr. Alan Galloway - 7 Detective Marty Russo - 3

Detective Karen Bettancourt ++ for knowing when to press Jim and when to back off -- for example, "You are being kind of touchy" Detective Marty Russo ++ for telling Jim some hard truths that he didn't want to hear, but needed to hear Detective Tom Selway ++ for not being too proud to learn from Jim Detective Jim Dunbar - 17 Detective Tom Selway - 15 Christie Dunbar - 13 Lieutenant Gary Fisk - 13 Detective Karen Bettancourt - 13 Dr. Alan Galloway - 7 Detective Marty Russo - 5

+ Christie Dunbar for spending time at the local Cracker Barrel, obviously not in the restaurant, but in the General Store, taking pity on the "chickens" and joining the ranks of the United Rooster Collectors of America! + Jim Dunbar for taking that shove from Terry without shoving back. Me thinks had you channeled your anger from what went down at the bank, Terry's house might have had a new opening for a double front door and Karen and Hank would have had company on the front steps! - Detective Marty Russo for suggesting that he would buy bells for everyone! Obviously he doesn't know that Jim bounces things with bells against the wall! Detective Jim Dunbar - 18 Detective Tom Selway - 15 Christie Dunbar - 15 Lieutenant Gary Fisk - 13 Detective Karen Bettancourt - 13 Dr. Alan Galloway - 7 Detective Marty Russo - 3
