And does Ms. Dunbar have stock in Con Ed or what? Wassup with those two lamps merrily burning away in full sunlight? Ummm..... she can't see?

Detective Tom Selway++for keeping the juicy secret that he caught Jim practicing in the locker room Detective Jim Dunbar+for actually taking the chance to practice in the locker room so he would be ready for dance class Detective Marty Russo--for believing his brother-in-law had the right idea in letting his and his neighbor's dog have it out in the garage. The dog lover in me has always cringed at that one.

Lt. Gary Fisk++for having a sound-proof office. Even Jim's 'good ears' haven't been able to pick up on any conversation! Dr. Alan Galloway--for never considering family therapy before. Cops have families too and when one is troubled its just not the cop who is affected but the family as well. Christie Dunbar++for trying to make the bitter pill of dance class easier to swallow by offering some after class 'recreation'.

Detective Karen Bettencourt++being willing to admit that you were really shook up by Condell's suicide, especially after you stressed to Jim how important it was to be honest with your partner. Detective Marty Russo--for hitting a man when he's down. You saw how stressed Jim was but you still had to tell him you would have 'made it my life's work' to get him out of the department if Karen had been hurt. Detective Tom Selway--maybe you thought since Jim already had a shrink he didn't need to see another one but you could have made him the same offer you did Karen.

Detective Jim Dunbar+you didn't need to say a thing-- the haunted look, the stress lines told me everything I needed to know about how this case (Condell) afftected you. Christie Dunbar++okay the 'you still got the gun' is possible the corniest line in the entire series but you did keep Jim from getting nailed by that bicyclist as you were leaving the park! Dr. Alan Galloway++for not telling Jim 'I told you so' when he finally admitted that he wasn't a supercop.

How about a Bakersfield PD Edition:
+ Detective Jim Dunbar, for following in the footsteps on Wade Preston and becoming a cop. ++ Lt. Gary Fisk for being much more decisive than Captain Stiles. ++ Detective Karen Bettancourt, for not dressing as well as Detective Gigante.

Okay. Here we go, and thanks, Housemouse, for the very funny Bakersfield PD edition. I have heard from any number of you in the past week that what has this game stalled is the quest to find something new to say about the characters. Since this game has been running in one form or another since December 2005 (I seem to remember teasing Shmeep about starting it on Pearl Harbor Day), is that even possible at this point? Probably not. Since I started this thread, may I say why even try to come up with something new? Why not go with the tried and true, that which makes us smile and sigh and remember? Hey, you want to give Jimmy a point for “I’d rather lose my sight than my courage” and put up that gorgeous screencap of him lying in Christie’s arms, again? Please do -- it’s not like we won’t all enjoy looking at it. Want to slam Christie for “You don’t need me – you need your dog” or diss Marty for the Helen Keller crack again? Be my guest. Works for me. Since this is, after all, “Absolutely the Last Survival Game Ever,” there’s no reason why we can’t revisit our favorite moments one more time, for Auld Lang Syne. Here I go . . . Detective Jim Dunbar + (For taking on the entire NYPD top get his job back. Gutsy move, that.) Detective Tom Selway ++ (For being the only one in the squad, Boss included, to give the newbie a gracious welcome. "Good on ya," as our pals from Oz say.) Detective Karen Bettancourt ++ (For holding Jim’s feet to the fire (Anne Donnelly, You sure you’re not just smellin’ cremated dog?) from the very first minute they worked together.) Detective Jim Dunbar - 34 Detective Karen Bettencourt - 22 Christie Dunbar - 18 Lt. Gary Fisk - 15 Detective Marty Russo - 14 Detective Tom Selway - 9 Dr. Alan Galloway - 6

OK, I'll play. (I hope I remember the rules!) The following are from "Under the Gun": Christie Dunbar ++ for immediately recognizing the seriousness of the situation when Jim tells her his gun was in the bag Detective Karen Bettancourt ++ for "He's a detective!" Lt. Gary Fisk ++ for "backing" Jim Detective Jim Dunbar - 34 Detective Karen Bettancourt - 24 Christie Dunbar - 20 Lt. Gary Fisk - 17 Detective Marty Russo - 14 Detective Tom Selway - 9 Dr. Alan Galloway - 6

" Been a while" "Been too long" All from Marlon's Brando. Karen Bettancourt +For not letting on to Jim that you heard that cheesy remark by Mr. Dressler, about it being different for him. Lt. Fisk+ For acknowledging the fact that a lot of things out of Marty's mouth are a slam against Jim. Jim Dunbar+ For accepting Karen's "you're a bit touchy today" gracefully. Detective Jim Dunbar - 35 Detective Karen Bettancourt - 25 Christie Dunbar - 20 Lt. Gary Fisk - 18 Detective Marty Russo - 14 Detective Tom Selway - 9 Dr. Alan Galloway - 6[/quote]

Great one, rducasey . . . . . . but let's adjust those scores. I seem to remember that the way this edition works, you can add or subtract 2 points from any of the characters, but you can only add 1 to Jim. I was trying for a semi-level playing field, but of course he's ahead anyway. So let's add 1 point to Karen's score and 1 point to Fisk's. Detective Jim Dunbar - 35 Detective Karen Bettancourt - 26 Christie Dunbar - 20 Lt. Gary Fisk - 19 Detective Marty Russo - 14 Detective Tom Selway - 9 Dr. Alan Galloway - 6

From Seoul Man--- Detective Jim Dunbar+for that smile and genuine laugh of relief when Galloway told him he was cleared for duty. He had been wound so tight you could have bounced a quarter off him! Detective Karen Bettencourt++for offering to dispose of Jim's wet wipe. Not only is she enviromentally conscious, she knew he would probably carry it around in a pocket of his burberry all day long...or at least until they got back to the squad! Detective Marty Russo--was it poetic justice or karma that allowed you to let Jeff Dorsey almost get away? Especially after you had ridden Jim all day long about letting the perp get by him.

Continuing the Seoul Man theme-- Detective Tom Selway++for picking up on Dorsey's slip of the tongue when he mentioned seeing blood at the scene and getting him to elaborate that he had "seen" the shooting. What is it with perps who can't keep to a simple story? Trips them up every time! Dr. Alan Galloway++for his parting words of wisdom to Jim. He cleared him for duty but reminded him that there were several things he needed to work on. Lt. Gary Fisk++for maintaining his professionalism. Tunney undoubtly gave him an earful about Jim and the gun before he was called into the office. Fisk didn't hold it against Jim but he did remind him that when the chief of d's gives you a butt-kicking you take it, learn from it and move on ,you do not argue with the head man regardless of how you feel, quickly putting Jim in his place.
Detective Jim Dunbar - 36 Detective Karen Bettancourt - 28 Lt. Gary Fisk-21 Christie Dunbar - 20 Detective Marty Russo - 12 Detective Tom Selway - 11 Dr. Alan Galloway - 8

Detective Jim Dunbar + (For giving the ever-ditzy Miss Chenowith a way out of her troubles instead of just smacking her for being a clueless twit.) Detective Karen Bettancourt ++ (For patiently questioning the ever-ditzy Miss Chenowith instead of just smacking her for being a clueless twit.) Detective Marty Russo ++ (For having his own balls of steel when it came to confronting Jim. Annoying? You bet, but give the guy two points for never tiptoe-ing around the elephant in the room: Dunbar's blindness.) Detective Jim Dunbar - 37 Detective Karen Bettancourt - 30 Lt. Gary Fisk-21 Christie Dunbar - 20 Detective Marty Russo - 14 Detective Tom Selway - 11 Dr. Alan Galloway - 8

Detective Marty Russo--for paying a little too much attention to Misty's rather 'considerable' assets. Detective Tom Selway--for paying a little too much attention to the acrobatics of the pole dancer at the LeSabre Lt. Gary Fisk++for offering Marty and Tom some singles. Who knew the boss had such a sense of humor!
