Oh, and I was sent this via email. You can look up your favorite shows, past and present, and get all the news-- www.tvrage.comNeat site! I looked up our favorite show, and see it is rated 10/10, with one vote. Well, it wasn't me----hmmm, hoosier? Wasn't me but I sure would give it a 10! Wonder who else has been lurking around there? ;D

According to this article, Life will return in February, staying at 9 p.m. on Wednesdays. And Friday Night Lights will be on at 9 p.m. on Fridays beginning January 16. I'm glad about Life. Since it is now opposite Criminal Minds-- **grumble grumble grumble**--I haven't been able to watch it but some music award show was on this week so I did. Ooh boy, Reece and the new boss *blush*. And partial nudity during the family hours? I know it was quick and discrete but wow.

I know this thread is now passe with it being 2009 but Lost is back! Yeah! And in fine form, I might add. In the first ten minutes so much was thrown at you and then in the next half-hour even more. I love it!

I watched Lie to Me last night. So so good! And useful in real life too--it's all about how subconscious body language gives you away. Tim Roth is the star. Anyone else catch it? This may be a keeper for me.

This may be a keeper for me. From "The Shallow End" of the Board... I did watch Lie to Me as well. I had seen lots of previews for the show that made it look interesting. But mainly I was extremely curious to see if Tim Roth really was a thinner Ron Eldard. Remember that passage from a Ron Eldard Biography ... At times bearing a resemblance to a slightly stockier Tim Roth, former Golden Gloves contender Ron Eldard...? Well, that had stuck in my head and FINALLY I got to see for myself! In my opinion....I don't see it. I thought the concept was interesting. There was a hint of the back story of each of the characters on which to base future episodes/character development, but I wasn't overwhelmingly convinced that it will become a must see for me. I do plan to watch it next week, though! I do agree that the body language tips certainly could be useful!

I thought it went a bit overboard with the body language, facial expressions revealing lies. A young man working with him apparently cannot tell a lie, so he just spouts the truth constantly and I think it could wear a bit thin. When a pretty girl came on board at the firm, he said as a greeting, "hello, I want to sleep with you." Apparently he has not taken the "sexual harrassment seminar" yet. The story was well done though, with a few interesting twists, and I do see some resemblance to Ron in the eyes.

The story was well done though, with a few interesting twists, and I do see some resemblance to Ron in the eyes. I thought it was good overall, but I have a few issues with it. The writing was often good, but was just as often awkward and extremely unrealistic and contained a pet peeve of mine--characters explaining things to each other for the benefit of the ignorant audience. Everything Tim Roth's character noticed was then explained in great detail to his co-workers--even the woman who knew nearly as much as he did about it. Just...annoying. I realize this is necessary to some extent since the audience won't know as much as the characters about how to read body language, but there are better and more natural ways of working it into a script. The best thing about it, in my opinion, is that Tim Roth gets to speak in his natural accent. I was afraid that lovely accent would be Americanized like Jason O'Mara's or Hugh Laurie's. I get a little tired of everyone being American all the time. I can see the Ron Eldard resemblance, but I think it applied more when Tim Roth was younger and cuter than he is now, like when he was in Pulp Fiction or Everyone Says I Love You. I like him as an actor and I'll keep watching this show. Hopefully, the awkward over-telling problem will disappear over time as the writers start to give the audience credit for being able to figure things out for ourselves or to follow the lingo of the main characters without strange interpretations being stuck in throughout.

Oh, swell. Instead of leaving it on Thursdays at 10:00, ABC slots it against the one show I never miss: Law & Order. And me without DVR or a working VCR. *Sigh.* Let's just hope it makes it into summer reruns, cuz I ain't about to bail on The Mothership (I need my weekly Sam Waterston fix). Um, isn't Ron Eldard supposed to be on L & O this week or next? Does anyone but me care that The Medium is returning? I always liked that show, especially for the husband and the kids. A pleasurably undemanding hour and very nicely written.

In the new issue of the TV Guide, the character Patrick Jane of the Mentalist will by temporarily blinded by an explosion and " must use his other senses to solve the case of a murdered financial adviser" Hmmm, I thought this was "far-fetched". Now, I do like this show and the character but when I saw this I thought here we go...again.

Hmmm . . . doobrah and I may be the only ones who will be sitting on the edge of the sofa tomorrow (Sunday) night, but there is a NEW Jesse Stone movie on CBS at 9:00 p.m. For those of you who don't know, this is a wonderfully well-made series starring Tom Selleck (who is aging a treat) as Jesse Stone, with plots and deliciously spare dialogue taken from the novels by Robert B. Parker (of Spenser reknown). Gritty New England feel, great haunting jazz scores, and good solid supporting casts: two previous entrees co-starred Saul Rubinek, and also Viola Davis, recently nominated for a Supporting Actress Oscar for Doubt. This is one classy series. [glow=red,2,300]HIGHLY RECOMMENDED[/glow]

I'll be watching too! I watched the last one, on your recommendation, and it was very good. I saw a promo for it a week or two ago but had no idea when it was on. Thanks for posting the information.
