Latest from Barbara Hall. "Demons" was shot on film, but it's at least likely that we will shoot the series on 24p. What is 24p?

24p is a lot where they film. Like Blind Justice was filmed on location in LA, and the lot was made to *look* like a NY street.

Barbara Hall explains it in her blog. Apparently it's a kind of high-definition video.

It's mentioned in the sixth and seventh paragraphs, where she discusses having to do things differently, depending on whether they're shooting on film or "24p."

I like film. The odd movie I've seen in theatres on some sort of digital format just is not the same.
Film has a luster, a glow, a certain look that the digital media seem to lack.
Perhaps it would appear different on TV, but in the theatres film is far superior.

Maybe he should change his name to Rodney Dangerfield. That way, at least everyone would know who he was!

I saw on a couple of entertainment sites that someone got hold of a copy of the pilot for Demons. They both said that the 'leak' had been 'contained'. I could just imagine all those people scrambling to find and secure it before it was downloaded onto the internet! I am sure some heads will roll.

Latest on Demons by Barbara Hall:
On Friday we got some encouraging testing on the pilot in Las Vegas. Networks like to test pilots there in order to get a cross section of the country. So what happens in Vegas doesn't just stay there … it comes back to L.A. to curse or bless pilot makers. We got (somewhat) blessed. I guess this means we're going to appeal to smokers. Too bad they don't advertise cigarettes on TV anymore. I'm kidding, of course. Smoking stunts your growth.
We went back into editing to address some testing notes and finally locked picture late Friday night. Saturday morning, the picture was timed and color corrected and we started the mix. Today (Monday) I looked at playback and it was really good. I thrashed around for just a second to think of a more lyrical way to say 'really good.' But those words suffice. I'm an over-writer by nature, so this is me showing restraint. (Rejected choices: It rocked; it was poetry in motion; it blew my mind; it transcended time and space).
Moving forward... step by step....
And from that staffer who is on the IMDB board
"We'll know in about two weeks."

This is a link to a Google alert from this morning: www.broadcastingcable.com/article/CA6439378.htmlAnd it's mention of Demons: Conversely, some are calling Fox's police drama New Amsterdam “slow,” NBC's geek-turned-hero drama Chuck “so-so” and that network's remake of The Bionic Woman plain “bad.” At CBS, Demons, about a demon-fighting ex-priest, is said to be in trouble. We'll know in 8 days, but the article goes on to imply that we should not give much weight to the pre-up front propaganda. So let's hope this statement about Demons is just not true.
